Crib mattress?

Sorry for another registry related post (and it won't be my last either!), but I need help with crib mattresses. Which one do you have? How did you pick it? We were in BRU the other day and looked at mattresses briefly but weren't sure how to pick one. Is this something we need to pick out in person or can we order it online? TIA!

    We picked the Colgate Classica III. A little more money ($150) but I liked the dual sides (one for infant, one for toddler) and we really wanted a foam mattress. BRU doesn't sell foam, that I know of, so we just purchased this ourselves. Obviously I have no review of it yet, but it's definitely firm and fits the crib (Davinci Kalani) well.

    ETA: We got ours from Amazon.com (and sign up for Amazon mom if you haven't already - free 2-day shipping!)

    we also picked a foam mattress. I ordered mine online. I think I used the Baby Bargain book for help choosing, but it was 4 years ago, so I am not sure the brand.

    Thanks! I want to just order one of the Baby Bargain recommended ones (a Colgate or something) from Amazon, but I wasn't sure if I should do more shopping for it.

    And I freaking love Amazon - I can get both the mattress and our crib with free shipping! Awesome. I haven't signed up for Amazon Mom yet, but I will look into it!

    I got the Colgate Classica 3 from Great beginnings- you should call them and see if they will do free shipping-  I went in person and bought it and used a coupon, but then read/heard that I could have just called them and they would have shipped for free. 

    Also it's worth checking overstock.com, they carry crib mattresses and have cheap shipping.

    This is the one that we have. I bought it online, I thought for under $150, but I can't really remember. I've been very happy with it. I like how it is so light weight (nature of foam mattresses in general). I don't honestly know if it is any better or worse than any other foam mattresses, but I do like that it has a "toddler side". We haven't flipped it yet. I was just thinking the other day how I have no idea when is the appropriate time, haha.

    I just ordered the Colgate Classica I from Amazon- it was on sale for $135.  Now it's back up to $145, but you could keep an eye on it!

    We got the only foam one they had in stock at BRU.  (Not sure what brand/style)  I wanted foam because they are much lighter than the spring ones and when you are changing sheets in the middle of the night, that helps!
