2 days after, so it'll be on a weekend. I don't think it matters, the little ones certainly won't know the difference. We are taking the day off to spend his actual bday with him, but that's just our choice. It was a special day for all of us so we'd like to celebrate just us 3 before the big party
DS's party is on his birthday. It's on a Saturday, so that worked out nicely. If it hadn't been, I'd have chosen to have the party after. I'd rather the 3 of us celebrate his birthday first, then the rest of the family. We contemplated having it on Sunday, the day after, but we have some out-of-towners who would have had a hard time making it back home at a reasonable time after a Sunday party.

This is exactly what we are doing. His birthday is on a Saturday but we are taking the day to celebrate just the 3 of us and take him to a AHL game. We are having his birthday the Saturday after - we also thought about a Sunday party - but we decided not to for the same reasons.
