Do you sing to LO?

I love singing "If I had words" (from Babe) or "Tender Shepherd" (from Peter Pan) to her as lullabies. What do you sing to your LO?

PS- today she was fussing in the car and I started singing loudly along to Billy Idol's "White Wedding" and it worked just as well as any lullaby ;)

Re: Do you sing to LO?

  • When she's sleeping in my arms, I sing "I hear the secrets that you keep- when you're talking in your sleep..." LOL (the song words are a link)

    Edited: to add link.

  • I sing any song I know the words to- it does seem to calm her. I do try to sing the same Jewel song to her while I'm changing her diaper- that is always a fussy time for her.

  • My go-to song is Jesus Loves Me.  I'm horrible at remembering song lyrics so we don't get fancy ;-)

  • I sing 'You can close your eyes' by James Taylor.  My mom used to sing it to us when we were little, and now I sing it to my DS.  My mom actually did sing it to him while she was here to help out as well, not knowing that I also sing it to him :-)  A little emotional, but VERY sweet.

  • This may sound crazy but LO loves to listen to Katy Perry's "Firework".  I think I sang it loudly in the car while pregnant and when it comes on the tv or radio I start singing it to him and he quiets down quickly.

  • I've been singing to him all along. Then again I'm one of the "cool kids" who sings loudly in the car and I don't care who sees me. I'll be interested to see how he reacts to that...on MondayIndifferent

  • I haven't been doing a ton of singing yet, but all of these midnight feeding sessions I've had one song stuck in my head: "It's True That We Love One Another" by the White Stripes

...not exactly lullaby material. Stick out tongue
