a) Which meats have you tried? and how did you cook them?
b) Did you puree them? Did they freeze well?
c) If you did not puree, how small did you chop up the meat?
d) How old was LO?
We have gone through all the major veggies and fruits at this age and are looking to try meat soon (at 8 months). Just curious how others are introducing it. TIA!
Re: Come in if you give your LO meat...
a) Which meats have you tried? and how did you cook them?
Chicken, turkey, and pork. I bake it.
b) Did you puree them? Did they freeze well?
No
c) If you did not puree, how small did you chop up the meat?
I use my judgement, but the pieces are pretty little.
d) How old was LO?
7.5 months
I haven't actually given LO the chicken yet, but I've already prepared it. I cooked a whole chicken in the crockpot and saved a big chunk of the breast to use for baby food and DH and I ate the rest. I pureed it and had to use quite a bit of water to get it smooth. Then I froze it in ice cube trays. I popped them out after they froze and put them in a freezer bag. They froze perfectly and popped out of the tray even easier than the veggies/fruits did. LO will be 7 months tomorrow and I plan to give him chicken very soon, maybe in a few days. I read on wholesomebabyfood.com that it's good to use the dark meat because it has more iron, but I used breast meat.

The Bump MoM Recipe Collection
DS has had all of the Gerber jarred meats and loves them all. We started at 7 1/2 months. Turkey/Sweet Potatoes, Chicken/Rice, Turkey/Rice, Ham..I think that's all of them.
i give colton what ever we are cooking, and some jarred as well. i shred it rather than chunk it if its homemade, like chicken - shreddy
i take our leftovers and freeze it in the little baby food baby cubes
