I was wondering the same thing. I am on the Austin board now and there are oodles of posts and replies every day. We are moving to Keller next weekend, but I'll continue going on the Austin board, too.
I think its because DFW is so BIG and its hard to have get togethers and what not.
I am originally from Austin and I am still part of that board because this one is so slow. I know for me I have been part of that board since before I got married in 2005 on the knot. Many of the girls on the Bump started on the knot or nest and so we have gotten to "know" eachother over there.
I live in the mid cities and I am expecting my first child. I notice that not to many people reply to post on here. I will try to add my two cents where I can so i can help contribute.
This board has become really slow. It was really busy when I first moved over to the nest from the knot, then there was a mass exodus to the bump. Once I got to the bump, it slowed to a hault and all the "regulars" disappeared. I still come back a few times a week, but all the posts are the same "help me find a daycare/pedi/OB/photographer/playgroup/etc." posts over and over again. We need to liven this place back up!

I agree 100%. Any ideas on how to get it moving?

I guess that's where we're all stuck. We want to get it moving, but nobody seems to know how.
The only way to get this board going again i'm sure is if there are GTG's planned but that may be a duplication of effort since the DFW nesties recently had a GTG.

I consider myself an Austin Nestie because I feel more at-home there. Even though I haven't lived in Austin since I first got engaged. Yes, we all have known each other either virtually or IRL for years now so I think people feel more comfortable asking for support or posting NBR stuff.
I think posting polls and asking for advice is great for jump-starting board activity. But if people don't reply, then what's the point? I know there have to be tons of ladies checking this board and just not posting or replying. If you don't see anything interesting, post something!

It's slow because no one talks about anything interesting. The same questions get posted over and over again. No one shares what is going on in their life so you don't really get a chance to e-know people. To have a busy board there has to be a few outgoing regulars who post each and every thought they have throughout the day. Just go to one of the happening boards like thenest in Houston and you will see a a very diverse and broad range of posts covering just about every topic.
I moved to Dallas from Atlanta recently. I still lurk that board since it is more active. Atlanta is full of people who all joined the board had babies right about the same time and that really helped that board get going. But it is a hard board to become a part of because it is so established.
I don't think GTGs are as important(I know that Atlanta went quite awhile between them) as just posting here. Might sound stupid but even just daily vent posts or even just random parenting questions that you might have will get the board talking. We all need to get to know each other. If you have something to say post it!

Just my thoughts...
I think you are right about DFW being so big. I also was part of The Knot in 2004 & 2005.
I will also try and frequent this board more & see if we can make it more lively!
