Nursing an allergic toddler while pregnant...

I need some help here.  My DS (allergic to dairy, egg, soy, peanut, etc) has been BF since birth.  He is 2.5 yrs old and I just found out I am pregnant (about 8 weeks).  I had removed all allergans from my diet when we discovered DS's allergies but I am not getting worried because I am pregnant and feel like I need some of those proteins back. I relied on egg and yogurt when I was pregnant with DS.  Has anyone dealt with this? I am in the process of weaning him during the night and hope to fully wean him soon as I do not want to tandem.  I just don't know what to do because my "morning" sickness makes me have no appetite and I want to be sure I am getting a balanced diet...

Re: Nursing an allergic toddler while pregnant...

  • My DD shows intolerances to all those things you listed plus others so I feel l am constantly struggling to get a balanced diet. Something that may help with protein is a protein shake. I drink them every morning. I add spinach or kale, a cup of water, some low acid OJ, berries, hemp protein and chia seeds. I got the hemp protein and chia seeds at my local health food store. They also make brown rice protein which you might like better.
