Just curious... have you given your LO ice cream

We try to give DS mostly healthy fruits, veggies, etc but he does enjoy some ice cream occasionally.... Some people think im crazy for letting him have a little..just curious what others with babies his age think!
Tonight I put some in a cone and he actually held it and licked it like we do... it was soooo cute!

    yes, I have not a lot only a couple licks of my cone b/c I crave it ALL the time like I did when I was pg with her.

    We go to this place where they serve all natural, no sugar added frozen yogurt and I have given her a few bites of that. She loves it!

    Yep.  DH is a sucker for giving her treats.  She also has had cookies here and there.  I don't see a problem with it every once in awhile!

    Same here! I crave it alllllll the time, it cools me off. :]

    Not yet. His Pedi doesn't want him to have any milk or milk products until we meet him at Bryce's 1 yr appt - which will be around the 20th.

    I give her small bites when I have some (once every couple of weeks) If I don't give her any she just screams at me.

    We go to a diner every saturday and the super old man that owns the place just adores DS and always brings a little scoop of vanilla ice cream over for him.  I always oblige and give him a few bites while the old man looks on with a huge smile.  Ice cream for breakfast is not my idea of a healthy meal, but the old man is so cute about it.

    Yes. My son has had vanilla ice cream twice.  Both at my parents house and it was from me.  He probably had 1/4 of a teaspoon each time. But, HE LOVES IT!!!  I personally don't see anything wrong with him having a little bit of a treat at grandma and grandad's house!

    No but only b/c we don't really eat ice cream so its not in the house. he's had pudding and DH has given him a cookie of some sort here or there. I've avoided oreos which DH can't wait to give him for some odd reason.

    Yes I have been getting DD ice cream since she started eating solids.

    She gets a little bit once or twice a month

    However, I am involved in the ice cream business!

    no, never, unless my MIL has given him some since she watches him.  I think my older kids were in school when they started asking for dessert.

    This is us too, we very rarely have it in the house.  My DH gave LO lemon sorbet, which I was not too happy about, but he just made a grossed out face and wanted nothing to do with it.  I plan on not introducing sweets for quite a while.

    We're delaying sweets.  She'll have cake for the first time on her birthday, and after that we'll still limit.

    I have a wicked sweet tooth, and I was raised a pretty healthy eater, I think if I didn't have that foundation, I'd have some real issues now.

    We don't have much soda or sweets in the house.

    no. And I have to admit I'd probably look at you like you were nuts if you routinely gave your under 1 kid ice cream.

    I wasn't going to...but after the seizure scare with DD I figure life's too short to not enjoy a treat now and then. Everything in moderation ;)

    So DD has had a small bite of a cookie or cake or ice cream every once in a while, but overall we try to eat healthy.
