Wakes up at 4:30 am, has surgery complete with narcotics (before the gas anesthesia they gave him something called versed mixed w/ tylenol w/ codeine to minimize separation anxiety when they took him away from us) and still refuses to nap. It took me 45 minutes to get him to fall asleep!
But surgery went well and it is a good thing we did it as even while currently finishing a round of antibiotics the doc said his ears were FULL of pus-y fluid. Ick. He's 100% back to normal right now (and watching "Buzz" of course).
Thanks all for the well wishes!
Re: ONLY my child...
I'm glad everything went well and he's happy. I'm sure he's much more comfortable now!
They gave H that liquid stuff before her surgery as well. I thought I was going to be really upset seeing her be put under anesthesia but since they used that I didn't have to watch. We are those parents that have a short video of her after they gave her the meds and I think it's pretty funny.

Ha! I know K would be the same way.
I'm so glad he's feeling OK and I'm very glad you got the tubes put in. All that fluid sounds icky and painful.
LOL, we did this too! I kept teasing him and saying "is this real life" and he was all sprawled on the hospital cot pointing at the light and saying "outside!", "outside!", it was too funny.
yeah, that would be called a paradoxical effect from the meds. Ava has it with benedryl - hops her up.
Glad he's doing well. I wish I could pour you a glass of wine ;-)

Glad it went well! All that fluid sounds painful!
Eliza took a decent nap on Monday, but I was expecting her to sleep and snuggle the day away. NOPE!
I love the "is this real life" reference! Poor Toodle!
he must feel SOOOOO much better! what a relief it's over and done with.
