Did any of you ladies measure behind? My ticker is wrong, I'm really 6w6d today. I had an u/s this morning because I was having some brown and red spotting. The doctor was able to find the sac and after searching a bit he could see a fetal pole and a heartbeat on the u/s but the baby is measuring 3mm 5 weeks. Since I charted I know its not possible for me to be 5 weeks, that would mean I got my BFP the day I O'd.
They did betas and I go Sunday for the next set and a follow up u/s next Thursday but I'm really worried. A heartbeat isnt normal at 5 weeks, so I'm worried the baby isnt developing correctly. I'm hoping its just a measuring fluke though.
It's also possible that I implanted late. I got BFNs at 10 and 12dpo but faint BFP(s) on the evening of 13dpo. Faint on my ICs, Dollar tree test, even my FRER was faint but the digital said pregnant.
Just hoping to hear that this happened to some of you and it was either a measuring error or magically the baby had caught up at your next checkup.
TIA!

Re: Question from 1st Tri about measuring behind
A heart beat is a great sign! My doctor always says that US measurements arent exact but they are a good tool. He said that they can be off by 5 days either direction.
you probably just implanted late or something like that. Everyones pregnancy is different. for now, be excited that you have a little life with a heart beat and fetal pole. With my 2nd pregnancy I saw a heart beat on US at 6 weeks, so it isnt crazy early, and maybe the measurement was just a little bit wrong.I would try not to worry for now, you should have more information in a few weeks!
Good luck! T & P!
We measured behind twice, and now are measuring over a week ahead-- it happens--- sometimes its just where they implanted and how they are lying. Our little girl likes to burrow away from the ultrasound (or did-- she's way too fat now), so they kept having trouble with measurements.
Good Luck!
Were they able to measure the heartbeat? Seeing a normal heartbeat is always a good sign and it's always possible that the measuring they do can be a bit off. Also, some babies start off slower and then catch up later. I've seen many, many posts from women who had babies measure behind and everything turned out okay.
Having said that, I'm always honest in response to these posts and say that my experience with measuring a week behind did not end well. I knew when I had ovulated so my doctor telling me that I must just be off on my dates didn't console me. My baby developed a heartbeat but her growth just couldn't keep up. She stopped developing at 7wk4d (so in my 8th week of pregnancy) and I found out at 10 weeks. I don't say that to scare you but to help prepare you in case the worst does happen.
I hope your next ultrasound shows a bigger baby with a strong heartbeat.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
He didn't tell me the rate but I did ask if it was normal for 5 weeks and he said yes. I'm hoping it was just a measuring fluke. Or that the equipment used might have been older and not as sensitive. Trying to stay positive which is hard because I'm a pessimist.
