  • Question of the Day:
Where within the country you live have you traveled that was remarkable, in your opinion? Where have you not visited that you would like to outside of your town?

Let's see.... noteworthy places in no particular order:

Seattle, WA: loved, loved, loved this city; especially for the seafood and the awesome revolving restaurant at the top of the Space Needle.

Chicago, IL: the atmosphere of the city gets me all the time and the food (Hugo's Frog Bar), shopping (Magnificent Mile), places to stay (Almalfi Hotel) and sights (art museum and Navy Pier), rock!

Philadelphia PA: I've lived in this city for over 10 years! I adore Manayunk and the suburbs of Main Line esp. Ardmore.

Las Vegas, NV: Excitement 24-7.... Enough said!

Nag's Head, NC: The closest I can get to resemble where I grew up. Oh and Tortugas restaurant is one-of-a-kind.

I'd like to visit: The Grand Canyon, AZ

I have no appointment today. So, I'll continue my 2-week hibernation from the outside world.

  • QOTD: Boston, MA was amazing.  I went with marching band in high school and loved it.

Charleston, SC.   Gorgeous, gorgeous place.  There was nothing about it I didn't love.

Hatteras, NC.  Grew up spending my summers there and it is still my favorite place.  Emerald Isle, NC is quite beautiful too, and very family friendy-great beaches for young children.

I would LOVE to see the West Coast one day.

UPDATES:  I am paying for my rebellion yesterday.  I feel terrible and don't want to move.  Hope everyone else is having a boring day!

  • Update:  Appointment yesterday went well.  I remain 3cm dilated and 50% effaced.  So, no change in 6 weeks!  I met my 32 week goal so now I'm onto 34 weeks.  I would really love if I can carry these twins close to term to have all of my 6 weeks off after delivery with them since bedrest has chewed up the rest of my time off.  NST tomorrow morning.

QOTD:  I love Chicago for the Cubs, the great shopping, and terrific food.  I really like Sunset Beach/Ocean Isle, North Carolina which is a great place to rent a beach house and soak up the sun and sand.  New York City was great for the action and all there is to see and do.  Napa Valley is beautiful and I'm a huge wine lover.

  • Question of the Day:Where within the country you live have you traveled that was remarkable, in your opinion? Where have you not visited that you would like to outside of your town? I love the Pacific Northwest.  My husband lived out there for a number of years and every time we've traveled there I've fallen in love with it again.  It's so beautiful and there are so many great things to do outside (rafting, trail running, hiking, etc.).  Portland, Seattle, etc.  As for places I'd like to go, I've always wanted to go to Utah, Arizona and New Mexico.  I hear that there are beautiful things to see.  Oh, and I want to see the Grand Canyon!    Updates:  Today is my appointment with my regular OB.  Last week I was told that my cervix was soft, but my fFN was negative and they didn't measure cervical length (the MFM doesn't feel that its predictive value is any good after 32 weeks).  I know I'll have a cervical length check today and I'm just praying that my cervix is at least where it was two weeks ago and closed.  Gotta keep cooking this little one.  Wish me luck, ladies! My mom has been bugging me for a while about ordering baby furniture.  I haven't purchased a single baby item because I was feeling so nervous and superstitious.  Well, this week I gave in and we ordered the furniture.  I think part of it is coming today.  I only hope someone is here to help bring it in!

  • QOTD: I am from Ohio.  Utah is the most remarkable 'within the country' place I have been because the landscape is so different from Ohio.  For whatever reason, I have never been to Niagra Falls, so that tops the list of places I would like to go.

Updates:  It has been an uneventful week aside from a visit from my sister.  I have lots of work to do and not enough time to do it.  My inlaws are coming tomorrow.  So far their visits have been encouraging and comforting.

    Due: August 26th
    Began bed-rest: February 9th
Type: Modified, Working on my Couch
Reason: I'm 14 weeks, I've had bleeding, there may be more. My uterus is narrowing restricting the baby's movement. They are saying it's a uterine anomaly or contraction. My doctor says it's a threatened miscarriage. The baby seems fine, my cervix is closed and long she said it looks as it should.

Anyway, I feel fine and I work in construction, so with a lot of men, it's hard to be home working from my couch. Everyone seems very understanding at work, so I'm not going to feel bad. No end on the bed rest - I have an ultrasound next week. So maybe some of these issues will resolve. I hope.

I realize generally those of you here are further along. I wonder if this is an indication of how it will be the entire pregnancy - if we make it.

    Thank you for any support.

I live in Michigan, I travel a lot for work, this year I've been to San Jose, Vegas, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Orlando (20 degrees in December, fun), Dallas, Columbus, Indiana.

Hawaii was awesome. Maui's beaches and the Road to Hana is very cool. I love the Cirque shows in Vegas. I think I would like to see our National Parks - maybe when we have kids.

  • QOTD- I worked on several different traveling marketing exhibits (think Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile type of thing!)  from 2004-2008 so I've traveled extensively within the country.  I've been almost everywhere but a couple of places eluded me - namely Boston! I have been wanting to go there but never got an assignment for it. In 2009, I traded the traveling lifestype to settle down and marry my hubby. One of the drawbacks of all the travel was most of the places are a blur- I can tell by my event recaps that I was there but I have no recollection of anything about the city. Sometimes friends will ask me, Have you been to Cheyenne? Duluth? Tallahassee? Pittsburg? Clevelend? Yes, but I dont remember anything about it. Sucky!

  • Good morning/almost afternoon!  Welcome, Kayla and Marisa!

QOTD: Where within the country you live have you traveled that was remarkable, in your opinion? Where have you not visited that you would like to outside of your town?

Redwood National Forest really struck me as a kid, along with Yellow Stone and Devil's Tower (both in WY) Hubby and I had a camping trip planned to go see a bunch of the western/northwestern national parks, but some life circumstances got in the way....maybe someday when we think the kids will enjoy it?

Definitely loved the Grand Canyon and I am bummed we didn't go see Sedona while we lived in AZ...someday!

Updates: Not a whole lot...my girlfriend has been here all week from Alabama taking EXCELLENT care of me... my dinners this week have consisted of spaghetti, bacon wrapped fillet mignon with sweet potato and zucchini/squash, chicken and mushroom enchiladas with sour cream sauce and Spanish rice...lets just say that while on bed rest food is the most exciting part of my day!

I loved Sanibel Island in FL.  The beaches, the cute shops and restaurants - LOVE it.  I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Springdale Utah is also gorgeous and completely different than anything I've ever seen.  It's a quiet, quaint little down right outside of Zion National Park, and a few hours from Bryce Canyon National Park.  AMAZING!

I live south of Milwaukee WI, so Chicago is just a skip away - love the shopping, entertainment, and food in the city and suburbs!

Minneapolis and St. Paul have a soft spot in my heart.  Some great cafes, shopping, lakes and trails.  I have a lot of friends/family in the twin cities and would move there if my familly wasn't so far away!

Places I want to go are Seattle, Napa valley, Yosemite, Tuscan AZ to name a few.

As for bed rest today.  I'm super bored and can't seem to be motivated to even do anything other than stare at the TV and putz on the computer.  I'm about 2.5 weeks into bed rest and this is the first where I haven't made an effort to read (which I normally do ALL the time), sew, or anything.  Oh well.  We're allowed days like this, right?
Tomorrow we have another growth ultrasound so I'm hoping our little peanut's abdomen has decided to grow!  All of the NST's and the BPP we had last week were great, so hoping and praying all goes well tomorrow.  Still no Pre-E, thank God, for me, though my BPs are still a little higher...can't the dumb things just stay down since I'll I'm doing is laying around anyways?  :c )
Hope all of you are doing well.

I was on bed rest from my appointment on Friday until this past Tuesday when OB released me back to work with restrictions. First day back to work was today and I made it 3hrs before my BP spiked and I blacked out in the lab. Took a lovely ride to our health services on a stretcher. OB was called and I was sent back home on bed rest again.

  • Update: I'm a little bummed b/c I had planned a trip to Chicago w/ some friends to meet up with my best friend who is turning the big 3-0! Sadly due to the bed rest and cerclage I can't do any traveling. I really wanted to be there for my best bud b/c she flew out her numerous times last year b/c she was in my wedding and she helped plan my bridal shower, etc. Oh well such as life. I guess again, I'm just a little bummed that I can't go.

I have my first follow-up doctor's appointment tomorrow since the cerclage was placed. Wish me luck! Hopefully I'll be off of bed rest and back in the saddle.

I honestly haven't been many places in the US. I really wanna go to the west coast. It looks beautiful, plus I wanna hit some of the wineries out there!!

  • Update: I was released from the hospital on Sunday after being in all weekend.  I went back MFM for a cervixal length, it was 0.5cm and they sent me back to the hospital.  I am going to be here until I deliver this time.  It sucks.  Bigtime!

QOTD -- This time of year I always say I am going to move down south. I really hate cold weather.
