GP verdict on eating fish?

Mmmm swordfish topped with shark....jk

but I am eating salmon and tuna sushi from a really nice sushi place right next door to where I work.

I have heard so many different opinions about eating sushi and seafood in general while TTC and while PG, what have you guys been doing?

    I have no idea if this is medically accurate, so take it with a grain of salt...but I've been following the "drink till it's pink" philosophy used with alcohol consumption.  Basically, I'm not going to deny myself some good sushi until I know I'm pg.

    i would eat it up until you get your BFP! that's one of the things i'm going to miss most. i LOVE sushi/sashimi, fish, etc. enjoy it while you can ; )

    Like everything else, in moderation is fine. Significant levels of mercury can take up to a year to?dissipate?from your body, so it's not a bad idea to cut back on high-mercury seafoods even before you're pregnant. But an?occasional?sushi lunch shouldn't be an issue.

    I have been a "drink till it's pink" kinda girl so far too, thinking I better enjoy it while I can.  Thanks ladies, I feel better :-)

    fish is good for you. go to americanpregnancy.org to learn which ones are safe while you are pregnant.

    I am also following the drink 'till it's pink rule. Also, I had sushi yesterday. I can't imagine if this take several months and denying all of my favorites in the meanwhile....
