My hands always get numb when I'm sleeping!!!

It's so annoying!  Everytime I wake up in the middle of the night at least one of my hands are numb!  I'm not sure why.  Is there something I can do to relieve this?

Re: My hands always get numb when I'm sleeping!!!

  • i know pregnant women are more prone to getting carpal tunnel syndrome...mine have done that a couple of time...my left pinky, completely numb!!  it is very annoying.  i haven't really put much weight on or anything that would put pressure on my hand...i wonder tho if its because i've stopped sleeping on my back and now switch from side to side all night and i get into a weird position...

  • Me too! So annoying! I'm going to go buy a Boppy body pillow. I'm hoping if I'm in a supported position it may relieve it.

  • My left hand gets numb a lot in my sleep. And when I'm driving my left pinky gets numb, it's the weirdest thing. A pp also mentioned pregnant women being prone to carpal tunnel syndrome, it might explain why my wrists are achey all.the.time.

  • OMG so do mine!!! Just this morning I was thinking about how odd that was (didnt happen with my first). No matter what position, stomach, back, left side or right side...one or both of my hands go numb!
  • Me too! This morning, half asleep I reached for the glass of water on my nightstand (with my left hand) and felt nothing.

  • Mine have been doing this too!  I've noticed it happens when I wake up sleeping on my side with my arm/hand under my head on the pillow.  I assume I always sleep like this, but I've never had the problem before.  So strange!

  • Mine have been doing this too.  Unfortunately, with my 1st pregnancy it only got worse as time went on. By 3rd tri it was not just my hands, but the whole arm and sometimes legs.  And the Charlie Horses'! But now I'm just going on.
