I responded to what you said in the parking poll post regarding "seemingly healthy people" who have handicap decals.
I don't know if you are going to go back and read it so I wanted to page you about it. I know you didn't mean harm but I just wanted to make you aware of something.
Brady's condition doesn't allow you to physically see his disability. Sure I can lift his shirt up and show you the scars from one side of his belly to the other, or his oozing gtube, or his heels from the hundreds of needle pricks, or papers from certified specialists saying he may never be able to develop normally but without seeing those you wouldn't know he is disabled.
I do understand that people take advantage of handicap decals but please try not to jump to judgment. I understand it because before Brady I would judge too but now I am the one being judged because I park in the spots if we need to. Which to be honest I have avoided parking in some handicap spots, even though I have B with me, because I do not want judgment on me because I am physically fine. I usually have B in the stroller with blankets over him so people don't even think to say he is the handicapped one.
Not trying to be snarky, I just really wanted to let you try and see it from the other side too.

Re: Yules - RE: Parking Post
Thank you so much. I have been meaning to tell you for a while that your daughter is absolutely adorable. I love your siggy pictures!
It's a good lesson to learn. I am well aware that there are people who do take advantage of handicap decals (my MIL does this w/ her moms), it pisses me off. It makes it so people like me feel guilty about actually parking in spaces even though I have a handicapped child who does deserve the spot. I just don't want judgment cast too quickly.
Thanks for posting this. I'm one of those that has been guilty of judging those people who don't appear handicapped (a few years ago when I was younger). I don't judge those people anymore, because the person would not have been given a tag if there wasn't a medical reason. (Of course there are those that mis-use them, but who am I to say that person is one of them?)
When I was 8 months pregnant and needed to go to the store, my MIL offered her disabled tag for me to use. I told her no, because it would have been wrong. There are people that really need those spots. I would just go to the store with my husband or someone else so they could drop me off at the door.
