South County Moms - looking for recommendations

I'm starting to look in to day-care as I will be coming back to work after maternity leave.  Anyone have any suggestions in the SoCo area?  We live in Oakville but I work in Sunset Hills so anywhere around either works for us.

Also, what about pediatricians?  I have zero idea how to start looking in to that!  I'll ask my doctor next week if they have any recommendations but I thought I'd ask moms too.

TIA!

Re: South County Moms - looking for recommendations

  • Hey-we have a 7 week old and live in the South County.  We go to Blue Fish Pediatrics by West County mall right off Manchester and love them.  The nurses are easy to reach, and we go to Dr Eaton who is great.  I highly recommend them and actually got the recommendation from my personal Dr at delivery.  No advise on daycare though.

  • I am in Oakville too but am a stay at home mom. We go to Esse Health on Tesson Ferry and our pedi is Dr Remus. I really like her. It is close to the house which is very important to me and she is very good with my son.

  • Can't help about the daycare, but we go to Dr. Christina Ojascastro for the pediatrician.  She is wonderful.  She is located on Telegraph in Oakville.

  • We take our boys to Dr. Lackey at Metropolitan Pediatrics in Sunset Hills (he's right across the street from BB&B on Watson.  We were going to a pedi that was only a few minutes away from our house when DS1 was first born and he was terrible (knowledgeable, but a jacka$$).  Dr. Lackey is young, knowledgeable, and very laid back (I wouldn't do well with an alarmist).  I highly, highly recommend him, (314) 966-3324.  You can always get a nurse to answer the phone and everyone there is so nice.
