  • Mine didn't stop until 18 weeks and even at that point, I still felt nauseous a few times a day and I hate to tell you this but I  threw up again this morning. I feel like it is just going to last my entire pregnancy. People told me it would go away at 14 weeks too, but it lasted a little longer. Don't worry though, it will get a little better. Even with feeling nausous occasionally, it's much better than it was.

  • (((Hugs)))  Mine is better (at 16 weeks today), but still has bad days.  If yours is still this bad, you really should ask your doctor about medication to help you through the day.  I hate to tell you this, but some women have m/s their entire pregnancy.  Others finally lose it in the middle to late first tri.  Some also have a resurgence in third tri.

  • Not to be a Debbie Downer, but they told me the same BullSh*t about my energy levels returning in the Second Trimester... Well guess what, I enter Third Trimester a week from today and still no energy burst.

I'm assuming since you're a nursing student you've sought out assistance from the doctor? I know the medications available don't work for everyone. I had very mild nausea from time to time (not full blown morning sickness) but anytime I felt it come on, I took the Zofran my doctor gave me and it went away.

    Good Luck!

  • luckily, mine went away after 14 weeks, but i know women who have had it their entire pregnancies.  like you, i'm a nursing student and clinical was very difficult when i felt like i was going to vomit the whole time.  if you're not anti-meds call your doc and ask for zofran - it was a miracle drug for me!  hope you feel better soon.

  • I still get sick almost everyday. I am 21 weeks today and have not felt much better. With my son I was sick from before I found out through labor. I hope this is not the case for you, but anyones guess is as good as yours.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  • Mine didn't completely disappear until about 16 weeks with DS. It had mostly eased off by that point this time, but it still flares up if I let my stomach get too empty or if I'm faced with something completely nauseating, like a really bad poopy diaper. I haven't actually puked since mid-October, though.

  • My nausea lasted from week six to sixteen.. dry heaving began at week 14 and is still going strong. :(

Some people do not get a reprieve. Ask your doc or midwife about zofran or something else to make the nausea less intense. Also, as much as I gag when I am making breakfast, eggs are the best remedy for me. I stay fuller longer and do not have the dry heaving later in the day.

  • I've had it the whole time so far...I've pretty much accepted the fact that it will be with me til I deliver.  I do take Zofran, which had been helping me not get sick, just remain nauseated all day, but this week is a different story...I've been back to getting sick once a day this week.

I'm hoping that third tri doesn't mean that it will be getting worse...crossing my fingers for you too!

  • Thank you ladies for the support, I truly appreciate it Smile I have been anti-meds this whole pregnancy but I'm not sure how much longer I can take this, so I might just end up calling my doctor or talking to her on my next appointment (Monday) Hopefully I will get through this, I just keep remembering what it is all for and that is enough to get me through.. Once again, thank you for the support, I wish you all the best Smile

  • I'm in nursing school too so I can understand your stress.  Get your dr to prescribe some Zofran.  I take it when I need to and it helps immensely.
  • You should ask your OB for something for the nausea. I used zofran ( I think) and it worked pretty well for me.

  • Ugh mine didn't leave until 18 weeks...The good news is it left as quickly as it came and I feel great at 20 weeks...still don't want chicken but that is so much better than what it was and no more vomiting.  Hang in there mine was still going strong at 14 weeks
