How accurate is the Chinese Gender Predictor?

The one on this site is different from every other site that I have googled.

This one says a GIRL for me, and all the others say BOY.

Has it worked for you? Just interested in the accuracy.

We should find out in a couple weeks, my doctor says, at the First Trimester Screening. 95% accuracy then.

funny...i don't know - i worked 12 hour shifts on the weekends and we'd get soooo bored. a co-worker was pregnant and we opened up the gender calculator here on the bump and all of the ladies we came across throughout the day who had children, we'd stop and ask them and all of them were correct...even my friend which it said would have a girl had a girl. hard to want to put complete confidence in something like that but it is kind of exciting also!!!

Using the one here on the bump, it was pretty freaking accurate for my family and friends. But, just like I said on the intelligender thing, starting out with 50% odds are pretty good to start with. When I was pregnant last year before I had my mc, I blogged about how accurate it was here.

According to the chart, the only way I'm having a boy is if I conceived LAST January. I'm fairly skeptical

It is hard to tell because the Chinese Gender Chart is based on LUNAR years, and our calendar is in GREGORIAN years. They are two very different things. Also, the Lunar calendar may add a year or two to your age since the Chinese tradition is to age a person by one year on the Chinese new year, and not on their actual birthday. Also, babies are already 1 according to tradition when they are born. So if a baby is born two days before the new year, according to tradition that baby would be 2 lunar years old just days after it's birth.

Looking up your age and month of conception could be off because it is not in lunar years. In Gregorian years (our calendar) I conceived at 23, month 1. In lunar years, I conceived at 25, month 11. The website below converts it for you if you are interested. Supposedly when converted, there is an 80% accuracy (not sure if I would put much stock in it though). It is only 80 because of the "windows" for conception. For example, if you conceive on the first day of the lunar month and the previous month would be girl and the current month would be boy, it is less accurate because the overlap is so close.

Sorry so wordy, but I think it's fascinating! p.s.- according to this chart I am having a boy. I think it would be fun to keep track or something and see how accurate it is!
