Does that make sense? lol. We have the Munchkin ones and I just tried to drink from it and it is actually pretty difficult. No wonder J hates them. Can you recommend something a little easier? TIA!
Anyone that isn't leak proof should be fine. Someone said it's the lock on the leak proof ones that make the straw so hard. We just got a couple insulated Evenflow ones on clearance at Sears that are just like drinking out of a regular straw. They look like this, only with the straw top:
I'm glad you posted this. I tried her new cup this morning and just about burst a blood vessel trying to get anything out. (DH would now say, "You probably need more practicing sucking. I can help with that."
I bought the take and toss ones to try b/c they were on sale at kohls and I had coupon. I'll look up the playtex one now.

We have the Tommee Tippee and the Nuby and same thing... I try and its hard so im just assuming that they suck differently (dirty mind go away).
There was one at Target, can't remember the name, but it had a 'Parent Assist' where you could squeeze and get it started.
Haven't tried it yet, but plan to as the hard suck ones aren't working for us either.
