NBR: who would you call to fix this?

The wood around our front door and windows is rotting and/or fallen victim of our termite problem last year.  We need to have all the wood replaced and are thinking about installing a new front door while we're at it.  DH is concerned that the job is just too big for him to tackle.  Who would we call for this and does anyone have any recos?  TIA!

  • There is a handy man that BellevueBride reco'd to me for laying our new floors.  He has also done her bathrooms and doors etc.  He was great and very reasonable with prices.  I think he can do anything.  His name is Jamieson, I almost always contacted him via email jamieson.fuller@gmail.com

I lost his phone number but I can get it to you later today if you want it....Sarah can get it for me.

  • Most places that sell doors also have installers.  We got ours through Marsh and they installed it for us.  We are pretty handy and considered installing it, but I am very glad we did not.  The guy said it would only take about an hour.  6ish hours later he finally got it finished.  There were some unseen things the idiot who installed the last door had done wrong and that had to be fixed.  FWIW, we loved Marsh all around, customer service, the installer, etc.

  • I would look into a window/door company. We had a couple of doors replaced last year and everyone we talked to was able to install the door as well as do finishing work like you're describing. We ended up going with RWT https://www.rwtwindows.com/ and Ric was great. He actually took extra time to come out and remeasure our basement door to see if he could find a way to fit a wider door. They also fixed one of the steps that went down to our basement door.

  • My husband works with a great contractor, John from TJ construction. They do that kind of stuf for my husband on his remodel jobs and rental property. you can send an email to my DH at awwilli26@yahoo and I know he would be happy pass on the contact info. John does a great job and is very well priced.
