Babies: 6 - 9 Months

You 8 month old's nap schedule?

DD takes 2 naps a day.......one from 8-10 and one from 2-4. Our local play groups meet 9-11........bummer. Debating on bringing DD to see how she does with a later morning nap

what age do they go to one nap a day? Not that I am rushing it, just curious :-)  I am bummed that play group schedule might n ot work with DD's schedule :-(

Re: You 8 month old's nap schedule?

  • Remembering correctly from when DD was little, she went to one nap at around 15 months. She just turned four and is still napping once a day (half the time now)!

  • LO still naps 2 naps a day.  9-11 and 1:30-3:30.

How often does this play group meet.  I would think 1-2 days a week of missing the AM nap wouldn't be the end of the world.

Agreed.  My older dropped his second nap around 13 or 14 months.  You could probably start to play a little with your LO naps....she might do ok.

  • yeah, it meets twice a week.......so I will give it a try. Thanks!
  • I would probably try to get an hour nap in, wake her, and be a little late for the playdate.  DS does HORRIBLE if he misses his morning nap.

His nap schedule is a 9am nap that usually runs 1-2 hours and a 1pm nap that runs 1-2 hours- all depends on how long the morning nap was.  If the morning nap was short, the afternoon nap will be longer (usually- every once in a while we get the dreaded 30 minute naps for both Indifferent )

  • My DS still naps about 3 times a day. His nap are usually 30mins to an hour. He naps at 9am, 12pm, and 3pm.

  • DS naps twice a day around 9 and 1. They are usually about an hour each...sometimes less.

I would just go to the playgroup after your LO has woken up or letting her nap just an hour like PP suggested.
