Babies on the Brain

I need a vacation, and suggestions....

I really need a vacation. I want to go somewhere warm BUT most importantly I want to have fun. I feel like so many places are out because I can't drink, can't walk very far and obviously can't do things like roller coasters, cruises etc.

Any ideas for me? I'd like to stay on the West coast if possible so I don't have to travel super far. Mexico would be ok, but I really don't want to risk getting sick while there or anything like that.

Can you think of somewhere with fun things to do for pregnant women that doesn't include cruising, drinking or whatever?  tia

  • I know this one place...Stick out tongue

though I wouldn't know what all you haven't already done here. Maybe a neighboring island?

  • I took a vacation when I was younger with my grandmother, to flagstaff AZ and the Grand Canyon. It was really nice, and there are some lovely hotels and little resorts out there.

We want to go to Maui, but I can't see being on a plane that long while pregnant and being that far from home this far along. Maybe if we decide to wait til after baby is born we'll do that. We pretty much did everything on your island though, we do have whale watching tickets since we didn't spot a whale when we went and they guarantee you'll see one or you get to go again. :P

  • If you go to San Diego, the Zoo is amazing, and so is Balboa Park. We stayed in this funky inn that was literally across the street from Balboa Park and it has hokey and fun. For extra fun, go on a Bay Cruise (though you'll have to skip the champagne) the food is always very good.

What month are you trying to go somewhere?

We've done this one already..but it was a ton of fun and i'd consider doing it again. Though we didn't say at a funky place, it was pretty run of the mill but nice and actually, this was when I was pregnant with Ry.

Are there resorts down there? Like a spa place with swimming etc?

I would imagine lots. Just depends on what you want to spend. I really wanted to stay at a B&B when we went, but I just couldn't get in because it was a last minute trip.

I thought of another good one - Monterey. Gorgeous, though not always warm. Lot's to do, and probably nice places/spas with swimming.

Have you looked into Palm Springs?  There are some really nice resorts and spas there that would be great for a vacation while pregnant!

  • Lived just north of San Diego for two years.  Loved Coronado Island, Mission Beach, Sea World (though I found the killer whale exhibit a little depressing,) La Jolla, Carlsbad & Oceanside.
