I get all excited, then I cry, then I am excited again! I tried packing away her first pair of PJs and I almost had a break down. I have them folded on her dresser now. I just can't do it.
Charlie was out of 0-3 by 2 months (most before that) so I wasn't too torn up (just because at that point I was still in a haze). Now I just get upset when I pull out an outfit I forgot I had and realize he doesn't fit in it anymore (which happens a lot).
My DD just outgrew her newborn things and is solidly in 0-3... I think the fact that she wore them so long makes it even harder to put them away. They are all in a pile on her dresser. I can't box them up.
My cousin gave a great tip, suggesting you pick your favorite outfit from each size and leave it out so that you can reminisce.
Re: Crying like a baby
I seriously box up the clothes that don't fit anymore almost everytime I do laundry, all of the sudden DD is growing out of everything!
I cried when her newborn clothes didn't fit anymore, now I'm used to it.
