So I've posted a hundred times about our bottle woes when I'm not around. Coop won't take milk from anything, but me. This typically isn't a big deal, but has become more of a concern due to full day trainings I have to have completed by March 31st for work.
So she has found she can get an ounce in him from a bottle if she wraps him FWCC and walks around while she feeds him. Today she thought to try warming the nipple before feeding him, he took 2 ounces!!!!!!! That was all that was in the bottle and I only pump 3 ounces when I pump in place of nursing, so it isn't way off. I'm super excited about this discovery! She said she thought since he is so picky about the temp of the milk, it might help...and it did!
He is also really really sick and eating less in general right now, so I think he would have taken even more.
Can I also say that my sitter rocks b/c she wears Cooper! She isn't the best wrapper, but he is secure, it just has to kill her back! I leave you tube videos up and she practices with his stuff animals. We are so lucky to have her!
Re: My sitter is a genius! (bottle related)
that is so sweet. i'm glad there's bottle progress!
my LO had a really hard time switching to bottles. even after she got the hang of it, she still had (still has!) times when it's really difficult to feed her. i found the following helped, depending on her mood and the setting:
1) warm the bottle (never tried warming the nipple, good call!)
2) walk with baby while offering bottle
3) wrap baby in a blanket, turn lights down low, and feed in a quiet place
4) try different nipple levels (2 has worked best with us)
just a few suggestions. good luck mama!
