  • www.mdchildcare.org has resources for after-school care as well.

IKWYM about the avatars - mine was a crib this morning, and my reaction was, "Do you know something I don't, Bump?"

  • I think Fairfax County has afterschool programs but not sure on how to get on the 'list'

And, I am consistently pregnant in my avatar and that is so not the case.

  • Fairfax County has SACC (school aged child care).  You can go through the government website to get more info.  Most schools have the program or will bus kids to a nearby school that has it.  A lot of daycares will bus kids to and from school as well.  I'm a teacher, and the KinderCare near our school brings kids to school and takes them back to the center at the end of the day.

  • most schools in the area have a program right at the school called either SACC or CASA or something like that that is usually run by a daycare center like Minneland and housed right at hte school...what county will the child be in?

This.  It'll be easier once you/we know where your friend will be living.  But a lot of school systems have after care right there at the schools.
