Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

One month later . . . crap day!

So, it was a month ago today when our angle left us, and today at work, a colleague of mine brought in her first ultrasound picture, which totally sucked!  Our due dates were only days apart, and while I want nothing more than to be happy for her, I can't help but think of how I should have had my first ultrasound this week too, and how unfair it seems that her baby is healthy and growing, and mine is gone.  We both teach second grade, and of course, her students are curious about her growing belly, so she showed them the picture.  I almost broke down when one of her students was telling me all about seeing the ultrasound and how big her teacher's baby is now.  On top of all of this, it's also the 3rd anniversary of my grandmothers death.  We were very close, so it's been an all over crappy day.  Here's hoping for a better tomorrow for all of us who have had crap filled days today!  Thanks for listening to my vent!

  • I'm sorry you had to deal with that!  Hopefully you can find the strength to get past the bad days.  ::hugs::

  • I'm sorry today was such a bad day.  I'm about a month out as well, so your story resonates with me.  I'm a teacher too, and students really have no filter, nor do they realize the weight of their words-intentional or not.  Today a student asked me, "Do you have kids?" to which I replied no, and she said, "Well, don't you want them??"  Ugh....
  • Yup, I've gotten the "do you have kids" question a few times too.  And then they ask "Is it because you're too young to have them?"  They mean well, but those questions are a lot tougher to field now then they were a a couple of months ago.
  • Oh-I am sorry for the day.. I hope it gets better tomorrow!
