Hi ladies!
Can you believe that I JUST found out this board exists?? I'm so glad that it does! I've been lurking and posting over in the July 2011 board. Now I shall be here too! DH and I are expecting our first LO late-July and I would like to have a natural birth in a hospital. I know that it is not impossible to achieve this goal, but that I must do as much research as possible before going in. I thank you in advance for all of your knowledge and advice. I'm looking forward to learning as much as possible. Oh, and please excuse me if any of my questions ever seem silly.
Most of my friends and family members around my age 23-30 are FOR epidurals and inductions, and such...which makes it practically impossible for me to have anyone to talk to about my goals/wishes/plans for LO's birth. I am truly happy this board exists!!
Re: Intro....
Congratulations!
My daughter is a happy, healthy almost-two year old, and she was delivered naturally. I encourage you in your conquest. I also recommend you check out resources in your area such as Lamaze class or other classes your hospital may offer. I'd also start talking to your doctor ASAP about your thoughts on natural birth. Gage his/her reactions; some doctors are very negative on this subject. Even if you don't decide to go naturally I'd still recommend that Lamaze/Labor of Love class. They have great tips on dealing with pain so that you can put off that epidural as long as possible.
Good luck!
