  Im crossing my fingers it will - although then she will want to stay at the hospital the whole time and act like she is a saint and I have already told my doctor that if she gets in my face she needs to be kicked out!

  Haha good! You are a day ahead of me, but I had my appointment today as well. My induction is scheduled for the day after yours. I know its frustrating and we feel like we are the only one without an outside baby, but there are plenty of us. I just try to put it into perspective, sure I may have to wait another week ish to meet LO, but come two weeks from now, we will all be home together, napping and cuddling, crying and pooping and a family of two never again. It seems like a million years, but when you think about how different your life will be just two weeks from this very second, I think at least, it helps make the wait a little more bearable.

  Try not to punch MIL in the face at dinner, I know how MILs can be! Good for you for letting your OB know in advance that she may need to be kicked out, also, let your nurses know ASAP when you check in. Maybe you could even devise a little code-word to let them know you need her to leave! ((hugs and labor dust))

  I have wanted to punch MIL one too many times, and thats a good idea about the nurses - we aren't planning on having ANYONE else in the room once i start to push except DH - I have been fair warned by SIL that MIL is a PITA during labor with her "kids"! 

  and your right about everything changing in a week, at today appt I should have had a camera to capture DH face when she started talking about the induction and she said "we will have you come in thursday afternoon and hopefully deliver that night or early friday"... the word deliver i think freaked DH out!

  Definitely a bummer on your bday. I hope it gets better.

  P.S I've been cranky lately too.... the waiting is getting to me. DH and I had a lovely disagreement today about when we are actually going to tell our family we're in labor. I was hoping my frustration/stress with him would throw me into labor too.

  Im sorry, but trust me, being induced when your body isnt ready is NO fun at all....I was and it lead to 27 1/2 hours of labor, an episiotomy, forceps delivery with my baby in the nicu for 10 days due to infection for being in labor so long.   So today is my birthday as well as my EDD... I went in for my 40week appt this morning hoping that since my Dr. wont let any of her pts go past 41 weeks and she is on call for the hospital tomorrow that she would just want to go ahead an induce today. NO such luck! She said my cervix doesn't really feel ready yet and it would put me in for a long labor if we tried to induce today. Not exactly the news I wanted to hear on my birthday! 

  We set an induction date for next Thursday the 24th if LO doesnt come on his own by then (which I have a feeling he is way to much like his father and is stubborn and wont). I took off work at 38 weeks because working at an emergency animal hospital it was just getting to be too much for me to be on my feet that long and would through me into these terrible pains at night. So I have now taken up 3 weeks of my maternity leave, I wanted to stay home at least 8 weeks after LO gets here but looks like I will be settleing for just 6. 

  I cant help to be somewhat upset and frustrated that LO isnt here yet and it seems like everyone else has their beautiful babies in their arms! I am in so much back pain all the time, I feel like someone with steel toe boots kicked me right in the who-ha everytime I stand up or get out of bed and I would be fine with all of this if it was getting me somewhere... I have been 1cm for almost 4 1/2 weeks!!!  

  Please tell me Im not crazy and these are just hormones talking! 

  Not to mention I have to have dinner with MIL tonight and put up with her sh*t - Oh the same MIL that has yet to see our new place that we have lived in for over 3 months and refused to come to my shower (because she didnt want to leave the dogs homes alone - what a crock of sh*t)

   

  I'm sorry! I had the same feeling when I went in for my 39 week. My doctor said I was "closed all the way" and the baby was big and I would need to be induced. That was on a Monday, Tuesday morning I lost my mucus plug, Friday I had my baby. So you never know. I hope you're in labor as I type this :P Good luck!
