Lean or Classic P90X???

I consider myself in pretty good cardio shape (I do cardio for 45 min 5-6 days per week, alternating between running and the elliptical), but still would still like to lose 7-8 lbs (and would like to build some muscle while I'm at it).  I'm torn which program to do, the classic or lean version of P90X.  Any thoughts?

Thank you!!

  • I would definitely do classic, it has more strenght training so you will burn fat and build muscle!

  • I highly recommend the Cha-Lean Strength training program.  I have tried both and she is definitely my preference.  Enjoy!
  • I started lean on my own and when my DH started P90x I switched to classic. I say classic. It's much more challenging. It has one day less of cardio but I say go for it if you are already doing cardio

  • The Lean program is awesome. Plenty of strength training, but the flexibility and cardio are awesome. I miss me some p90x :( [sigh] but I figure if I'm too worn out to get through a pre-natal Ruah video, Tony Horton will have to wait until LO gets here.

  • I did Lean, and I lost 10 lbs. It's good if you're looking to loose a lot quick. If you already do cardio, go with classic. It'll be more challenging and still get you the weight loss goals you have plus toning.
  • How'd you do with the Fit Test?  Take that into consideration when trying to decide.  Also, what are you looking to accomplish?  Looking to drop pounds before building muscle?  Then start with Lean.  If you're at a good body weight but looking to build lean muscle mass, then start with Classic.

Either way, which ever you choose, you can always change!  That's the beauty of working out at home!
