Lots of dog posts today, but someone else's comment made me wonder are you going to let the dog or dogs into the nursery?
Mine won't be allowed in there unsupervised, one of our's shallows little things like socks and boxers so I can only imagine what he'd do with baby clothes and I don't want another $2000 surgery to remove an obstruction. As long as FI or I are in the room I think I will allow them to be in there, only if they behave. I'd like them to get used to baby and the smells and I know locking them out they will throw a fit to get in there if one of us is in there with baby. I just know some people don't allow their dogs in the nursery at all, so what are you ladies doing?

Mine will be supervised, if we are in a room and she isn't in there with us she will get mad at us a poops in the hallway.
I got her her own little comfy bed just for the nursery, because she is very curious, and I want her to be included

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Yes the dogs will be allowed in the nursery. They are just as much a part of the family as the baby is. They aren't chewers, so that's a plus. They will learn to protect the baby. The ONLY issue i am having is that they are both VERY hyper. One is a puggle and the other is a doberman. They are both allowed on the couch and its hard when I come home to get them calmed down. They don't jump on me but they run around the house like a bunch of crazy people. Scares me a little.
I guess we will address this as it comes. Good luck with the swallowing. I hate going to the vet.
After 3 failed Clomid+TI cycles, DD was conceived with IUI#1
TTC #2
Clomid 50 mg + IUI#1 = BFP, m/c and D&C at 7w1d
Clomid 50mg + IUI#2 = BFN
Clomid 100mg + IUI#3 = BFN
Lupron + Follistim + IVF#1 = 11ER, 10M, 10F, ET of 1 expanded BBA 5-day blast, 2 Frosties. BFP! Beta 10/13 = 264! Beta 10/15 = 702! EDD 6/21/14
When DD was a newborn I gave her all of her baths in her little tub on the carpet in her room. Our dog supervised every bath, sniffed DD, and would try to lick the water off her face if she could. It was adorable, and I think that helped keep her from experiencing any jealousy with DD.
Anyway, yes, I plan on doing the same with this LO.
We will allow our dog into the nursery. She'll just have turned 1 (in May) but she's a super gentle dog. I think she'll protect this baby with a fierceness; especially from my stupid cat, who is just a jacka**. However, when the baby is in the room sleeping, the door will be shut so neither the dog or cat will get in.
I'm not overly concerned - Ruby (our dog) knows when she touches something that isn't hers (she's grounded herself a couple of times without us yelling). And I think she'll have respect for the baby's toys.
Our dog will be allowed in the nursery. He is almost 5 and very well-behaved. Also, he is too short to jump up on anything and doesn't chew anymore so I think he'll be fine. I do want him to feel included because he loves people so much. He sleeps in a crate at night so I'm not worried about him being in there unsupervised. I have a feeling he will want to be in the same room as the baby most of the time and that is fine with us as long as he is not trying to jump on us while we are handling the baby. We've been really careful not to leave things out where he can get them (from his puppy/chewing days) and will continue to do so once the baby has toys out all the time.
If the baby is on the floor and once they start crawling, we will be right there with him or her so they will never be alone with the dog in that regard. I don't think he would ever hurt a child but we will be super vigilant anyway.
