I still have 6 wks to go, so I can't claim to be pre-e free the second time quite yet but I'm already 7 weeks further along. This pregnancy I was at the gym every day of my first tri (and still walking and doing yoga a few times a week in 3rd tri), I'm drinking more water, and I take a baby aspirin every day (started aspirin a few months before TTC).
#1- whole pg sucked, s/s started mid to late 2nd tri, dx at 32wks, induced at 36w5d, delivered 37wks 0d, had high b/p for 6 wk pp. it was at this worst the 2 wks before and 2wks after delivery. I ate great, was in great shape prior to pg, jogger, cardio salsa twice a week, worked out after m/s ended at 15wk until I couldn't anymore at around 26-27wks. I was having runs of a cardiac arrhythmia by that point.
#2- walked every day, not best shape ever, was trying, ate junk... craved brownies and cheeseburgers. had so much more energy once I got past the (worse) m/s after 16wks. migraines, but no other issues until... 37wk appt b/p was 90/60.. 2 days later woke feeling off, had a nosebleed and my b/p was 140/90s... pressures were up and down for a week, swelled up, but overall not nearly as bad as the 1st. was induced and delivered at 38w2d. no s/s after delivery at all. was never diagnosed with full on pree... never had the 24hr urine taken... she just went for delivery. ; )
I was working in a high-stress job (probation officer) when pregnant with DS1. I was a SAHM when I was pregnant with DS2. I'm not saying that staying home isn't stressful, but it's a different kind of stress. With my pregnancy with DS2, I was able to relax in my comfortable clothes most of the time when I was told to. When my pressures started to rise, I was able to nap with my toddler and spend 2-3 of my waking hours laying on my left side. I didn't have the stress of knowing I had to get up and go to work for 10+ hours and then come home and take care of my toddler and house.
Don't know if that's a possibility for most people, but I'm really thankful I was able to stay home while pregnant with DS2. DH and I have pretty much agreed that I won't go back to work until we know we're done having kids for that very reason.
