What blood test do they do at 35/36 weeks?

At my last appt. the nurse told me I'd be getting a blood test and the Group B strep test.  Then they changed their minds and said I'd get them next week.  I can't remember why there would be a blood test at this point.

    They just pricked my finger to see if I am anemic. And then I also got the Strep B test

    Never had a blood test at that point in either pregnancy, but I could see the anemic thing I guess.

    Hmm.. they didn't really do anything on Friday at my appt, but I am giong this Fri too, so I'm wondering the same thing! What is the strep b test??

    Well it's not as bad as it sounds... but they actually take this little swab thingy and swab your butt crack.  Sorry for lack of a better way to put it.  It doesn't hurt or anything it's just weird and awkward.  Have fun friday! lol

    I had both of those tests done at 35 weeks as well.  Mine was not a finger stick though, I can't even remember what they said.  I was just happy when they told me it would be the last of my bloodwork before baby comes.  :o)  But I had an actual tube of blood drawn....not sure how much as I hate needles and didn't look, lol.

     I had the strep test done and then had to have it redone on Monday b/c they lost it :o(

    I have my next appt on Friday. I was only told I would be getting the Strep B test which was described to me as a quick vaginal swab.  I really hope they don't surprise me with a blood test!
