Girl 1st birthday gift ideas?

For some reason I am drawing a total blank on this.  We are going to a 1st birthday celebration tomorrow for the little sister of one of Liam's playgroup friends.  It's not a bday party, just our regular Wed playgroup + cake, she said no gifts, but I have a feeling most people will bring something anyway, so I wanted to get something small.  Any ideas for a small gift?  Her older brother is only 17 months older, so they have TONS of toys already.  I was thinking maybe a book, or something girly like a doll?  Any 1 year old doll suggestions?

    I think I know who this is for :) I would say a little baby doll would be a cute idea because that would be somethign special for her that her brother prolly doesn't have!

    You could do a doll.  Or a doll stroller!  Allie LOVED her stroller when she turned 1... and she still loves it!

    Ohh..a doll stroller is a great idea and Target usually has them pretty cheap. Or a Fisher Price tea set, a doll, a little outfit, etc.

    Ditto the baby doll/stroller idea. You can get a good baby doll at Target for a good price as well as an umbrella stroller. I think that would be the perfect gift!

    Holly loved any of the FP Laugh & Learn stuff at that age. I also agree a cute baby doll would be great. And books, as you mentioned, are always good!

    In addition to the above options, both our girls started getting into Little People around 1 yr. old.  Claire also got some weebles at her 1st party which she likes.

    Ditto the doll, stroller, and tea set ideas.....first things that came to mind were a shape sorter and fridge farm.  Also, bottles and play sippy cups for her baby are fun too (R loves to feed her baby a bottle).

    Thanks so much for the suggestions ladies!  I had a hard time finding what I was looking for at Target tonight, so I ended up getting her a couple of cute little board books.
