February 2011 Moms

New. . .

I am new here and was just wanting to make new friends that go through the same things as me and feel the same as me. I am a first time mom with a week old son named Braydin Whyatt. I delivered him Feb. 9, 2011. I think I had a very easy labor and delivery, it was very very fast!. I think I am going through the "baby blues", not toward my son, but toward myself and significant other. I actually seem to want to keep myself isolated a little bit I think and it sucks!! I would just like to make some friends that I can count on and talk to and share opinions and information about life...

 :) Thanks !

  • Welcome, we are a pretty chill group here. I am sorry to hear about your BB. I myself would not know what it is like. But I have seen some woman talk to their doctor about it. Hope you start to feel better soon.

  • Thanks!. Yeah I think I may possibly call my dr tomorrow to see if I should wait it out or not.
  • Welcome! I think we have a great board here, so I hope you like it! Poke around a bit and try to get a feel for how things are around here! There is a great post about "Wilma" a few posts down that will catch you up on some of the silliness that goes on around here. Don't put off talking to your doctor about the baby blues, especially if you think it might be something more. Remember Happy Momma=Happy Baby!
  • Thanks! I will look for it and read it right now. And I hope it is nothing more than the baby blues.
  • Hi!! Welcome! We have an awesome board I think you'll like like it. I went through quite a bit of BB with my DS (first child). I developed a pretty severe anxiety disorder as a result that I struggled with for years following. I chose to not seek therapy and I regret that. I too just wanted to be alone, even with guests coming over. That lasted a couple weeks for me, but the anxiety stuck around for a couple years. I would def give your Dr. a call to help you or point you in the right direction. Addressing it asap will make you feel better and make your first couple months home a much easier and happier transition for you and your family.

Welcome again and congrats on your new little man! Keep us up to date on your progress :)
