So for the past week I have had this annoying numbing pain under my left breast, basically in my ribs. It's usually when I'm sitting, right above my bump. It doesn't hurt, just really annoying. Has this happened to anyone else?? Any ideas what it is and how to get relief from it?
Re: Numbing in Rib cage
I have this problem a lot.
At first, it was related to my bra. Go get measured again and try on some different styles of bras. I found that, though I'm a 42F (I measured as a 40E but it's too tight on my nipples so after trying some on, a bigger cup size really helped), a non-underwire bra was best for me (I've gotten creative with using a bra-back extender to make a 40F fit me though). Also, when I sit with bad posture I get that same problem.
I've found that underwire, bras being too tight around my ribcage, and bad posture make my ribs feel that numb feeling you're describing. And most of the time, by the end of the day, it hasn't gone away. Sorry if that doesn't give you much hope... but the most relief I've had was from changing bras and experimenting with the sizes.
I have this same thing. It's hard to describe... It doesn't REALLY hurt, but it's uncomfortable. And isn't exactly the rib bone itself, but in that area right between the bump and the boobs. I notice it mostly when I'm sitting, as well. I think it might be poor posture and putting too much pressure on the bump. I usually try to get up and walk around or lay down for a few minutes and it goes away (only temporarily, of course).
Well, the bras have helped the problem for me, but not a 100% cure. It still happens, mostly because my boobs still end up resting on the top of my bump. Even tightening the bra doesn't necessarily work. But the better posture I have during the day, the better.
Sometimes the only thing that makes it better is when I get home, I roll up a small blanket and wedge it underneath my boobs in between them and my stomach. Then they're perched on top and nothing's putting pressure on my ribs and it helps (for a short time).
Gotta get creative, I guess.
