Long story short - being induced on Thursday if I don't go before then. Not what I was hoping for, obviously. Baby is still high, I'm about 2 cm, 50% effaced. Went to the acupuncturist last week, and really didn't feel anything happened, although I had some rug burn like pain for the following 2 days from the cupping. All of that is out of pocket, and not cheap (not hugely expensive).
So, do I try it again, or just focus on what I can do at home with acupressure points/walking/etc.

I know you said long story short, but why are you being induced?
Unfortunately, my FP doctor and supporting OB don't want me to go past 41 weeks, and while I could go a bit farther (I'd be comfortable until about 41 1/2 weeks myself - not much beyond that as I believe I'm actually a few days ahead judging by timing and early u/s, and I'm personally not comfortable going beyond 42), my doctor is out of town starting on saturday, so it's do it now, or go with one of her partners, whose views on VBAC's I don't personally know. I have a pretty good relationship with my doctor and am confident that I won't have the communication issues that I did with my last OB (which was a major emotional issue for me with DS), plus, despite the 41 week thing, she doesn't have any timeline for labor, and in other ways is more supportive of VBAC's.
Are they inducing w/Pitocin?
I'm curious because I've asked my OBs to break my water before my "scheduled" RCS at 41w1d and give me some time to see if it will make me go into labor. It's my last ditch effort at avoiding the c/s. I haven't asked about Pitocin at all though. I am not dilated at all yet though so they can't do it unless I have some dilation.
TTC #1 Cycle 14 - IUI#1=BFN, IUI#2=BFP | TTC #2 Cycle 8=BFP!!

I see. My doctor will let me go to 42 weeks but will not induce at all for a VBAC. If you don't go into labor yourself by 42 weeks its a RCS at this practice.
I'm hoping you go into labor yourself and don't have to worry about the induction!
Get the acupuncture every day!!! I'm totally serious! And chiropractic adjustment, too!
And, personally, if it were me, I'd be going as long as I could without an induction - regardless of the OB being there or not. I'd just labor at home as long as possible & go to the hospital at the very last minute!

Yup - she'll induce w/ pit. I'd check into a foley catheter induction before going the water breaking route. It may be another possibility.
Personally, I don't put much stock into acupuncture, so I wouldn't do it again. I'd probably focus more on walking and lots of sex...and maybe even try pumping.
However, I think that if it makes you feel better, and makes you feel like you're "doing something" then you should go for it.
Best of luck! Here's hoping you go into labor tonight!!
When does your doc get back? Would she be on call the whole time even if your induction took more than 48 hours or wouldn't she let you go that long? Just wondering since I was a 3 night failed induction before heading home and coming back later that week on my own.
I don't have much of an opinion on the accupuncture, but I do feel like the whole process of going into labor can be just as much mental release as it is physical, so whatever would help you in that respect would be the route I would go.
Really hoping that it is all moot though and you go into labor on your own stat!!!
I hope you go into labor soon and can avoid the induction!
Does anyone throw labor dust anymore or is that pass?? If not, I'm throwing it for you. For real!
Yeah, I have to agree with MIP on this one...I would personally take the risk of having a doctor I don't know, and getting longer to go into labor without an induction.
As for the acupuncture, if it's not a huge financial burden, might as well. I had it done three days in a row before to going into labor with DS2.
I've been thinking of you! And also am sending you gallons upon gallons of labor dust your way, heh heh...
