I was induced. I really pushed back and did not want it at all, but at 38w, I ran out of amniotic fluid and DS needed to come out.
I checked into the hospital at 6 pm, had the cervadil at 9 pm. Slept all night, pitocin started at 9 a.m. They let me move around a bit, I bounced on the yoga ball about 1 pm for an hour and out came my mucus plug. 5 pm I was 1cm dialated and they broke my water and by 530 I was 3 cm dialated.
By 7 I was in full fledged labor. Got my epidural at 9 pm. Began pushing at 1130 pm and DS was born 1 hour later
I was 8 days over my due date. I checked into the hospital at 10:00 am and the OB on inserted pill into my cervix. We waited 4 hours I believe, and they checked my cervix to see if it softened and then began Pitocin. I was on pitocin for maybe 4 hours, walking around etc... then as I was walking around my room, my water broke on it's own. I got cleaned up and they gave me a ball to bounce on as the contractions began to get stronger. I had an epidural ate jello and chicken broth and once i was 9 cm i began to practice push - my daughter was born after 30 minutes of pushing at 11:57 pm - I did have to have an episiotomy which did not hurt thankfully for the epidural. It went by so fast and was not nearly as bad as expected.
Thanks Moms! I just wanted to get some more information. I am scheduled to "start" induction next Monday night so I am hoping he comes before then. But I am glad to hear you both has positive experiences.
I was in the middle of my 41st week and I was still not dialated AT ALL so it was decided that I would go in on a Sunday night to be induced. They were pretty busy that night and I did not get my cervadil until about 11pm, had that for 12 hours and it did not help at all - then I was put on pitocin for another 12 hours, and that only gave me contractions while on the pitocin but did not help to dialate me at all - I was basically at the same place I was at when I got there - they tried the cervadil once more and hwen I woke up Tuesday morning and I was at the same place I was when I first went in we knew that a C-Section was going to be the direction I had to go in. My "little boy" was not so little and he did not want to drop - so we schedule the C-Section for the end of the week and I went in on Friday for a 12:30pm C-SEction and at 1:04pm my guy was born at 9lbs 7ozs and 20.5 inches! The C-Section was much easier than I expected and I wished that I pushed for it more earlier in the week when we realized that the induction wasn't doing anything for me.
My Dr. said that cause my little guy was so big and he had a pretty good size head that s probably why he didn't move down the birth canal and why the induction wasn't working
