T&P for a student please

One of our HS boy's dad passed away. He had a heart condition that caused his heart to literally harden. The son has the same condition. This wasn't a surprise, but it's terribly hard never the less. The family, community and fellow students sure could use any T&P's you can spare.

As a bit of an aside, I found out that the student's parents did IVF with embryo testing when they decided to ttc, and they were one of the less than 1% where the testing didn't work and the son still ended up with the genetic condition. I didn't even know that was possible. I'm sure testing is more advanced now, but I was kind of shocked to learn that.

T&P coming! How terrible.

When I did PGD I was on a board at ivfconnections.com specifically for PGD and related testing. This was 4 years for DD and 2 years ago for #2. I saw quite a few women who had the wrong results from the testing. I remember one woman in particular had a baby born with CF. And I know there was at least 2 or 3 others. It's hard to say where the error occured, the testing, or if the wrong embryo was put back in. Either way, it's terrible.

The varsity basketball team all just left school to go show their support to the family. Wow, the emotions of it all are amazing and I'm struggling to keep it together. It all just breaks my heart, but to see their support is heart warming at the same time. No point to my post, just needed to get it out, since crying in the office probably isn't a good plan.

Thoughts and prayers for your student and his family. That is just so sad.

In regard to PGD - I have heard that there can be errors, it's a small percent, but nothing is 100%, so there can always be that chance, unfortunately.
