Just wanted to let you ladies know Kiki had high BP today and her doctor requested blood work and L&D to monitor her baby. Please keep them in your thoughts.
Delivered 3 weeks and 2 days early via emergency c/s due to pre-e
Hi. Just thought you ladies would like a quick update. She just text me and said baby is on the monitor and seems to be just fine
Logan Alexander born May 9th 2011. He has stolen my heart forever.
BFP #2 05/24/12 EDD 01/31/13 D&C 06/26/12 Missing you.
Diagnosed with Ashermans 11/06/12 Surgery 01/18/13, Cleared for TTC 03/01/13 BFP 03/26/13 IT'S A BOY!
Please Be Our Rainbow!
So glad to hear that the baby is fine! I hope this is just a one-time issue and she can have a nice, quiet, boring third tri. She's had enough excitement!
Hey ladies, thank you for the kind thoughts... you're so right, I don't need any more excitement! Looks like all is well. Here's the update I just posted on the May board. Thank you Vincent and Kathy (my May board labor buddy) for keeping this board up to date. The weekly check-in might be late this week... but I will do it!
XP from May '11 Mom's board below:
I
am back from L&D, and as forecasted by my text earlier, baby and I
are fine. BP is back within normal range. I had been feeling weird all
morning (palpitations that I was feeling in my throat and a little bit
fuzzy headedness that didn't go away), which prompted me to go to CVS to
test my bp. I'm on meds for high blood pressure and test my bp every
day, but never thought to bring my cuff with me to work (I will from now
on!). At CVS my bp measured 152/101 and then 150/104, so I was a
little freaked out. A friend of mine went with me, and as a control she
did her bp (she is also pregnant and had just had her bp checked this
morning), but hers came out fine, so while I was skeptical of the CVS
monitor I still was feeling out of sorts so I called my OB.
OB
told me to call my cardiologist, who I already see for the chronic
hypertension. Receptionist there gave me an appointment for tomorrow
(Tues) afternoon. Didn't really help address the immediate concerns, so
I called my OB office back and they told me to come in to check my bp.
My bp at the OB was 124/86, but since I wasn't feeling any
better overall my doc sent me to the hospital. Told me to go first to
the ER to get an EKG to check my heart and the palpitations, then to go
on to L&D to make sure baby was okay.
Luckily everything
checked out fine - EKG, blood count, sugar level, no protein in urine,
baby did fine on the monitor (but was squirming around so much the nurse
had to reposition the belt several times!) and ultrasound too.
Verdict?
Stress? Fatigue? I'm not sure. I still don't feel 100%, but am at
least gladly reassured that the baby's not in harm's way. I will go to
the cardiologist tomorrow and see what he says about the persistent
discomfort from the palpitations and heart pounding; it's keeping me
awake at night and it's hard to find a comfortable position while
sitting either. Seems silly to have had to go through 7 hours of
monitoring and tests, but I'm glad to find out that everything is okay.
Now, I'm just pooped!
Thanks again for thinking of me, it really means a lot.

Geesh lady I don't bump for one day and things go crazy! I know this is late to the thread but I truly hope all is well with you and your baby! I will send up a special shout out for you both tonight while I say my prayers. I hope that you start feeling better soon and can get some resolution on the palpitations and heart pounding.
Erica - so glad that things are looking ok. I know yesterday must have been so emotionally draining. Good luck at the cardiologist today. Hopefully your body calms down soon!
Thanks again, everyone! Doing pretty good today. I updated in JM's post above.
And yes, I do plan to bring my BP monitor with me to work from now on. I have had one for a few years... just always left it at home. One lucky thing is that our chief of security where I work is also a volunteer EMT leader and has his own med pack with bp cuff. Unfortunately he wasn't in on Monday, otherwise I would have had him check my bp. Oh, and a boon, he's delivered babies before -- just in case... though in now way do I intend to need him for that!
I'll have the weekly check-in posted tomorrow... would love to hear how you're all doing (and I hope you're all well)!

You're one of the few ladies I can relate to on the May Mom's board, us older ladies have to stick together!
