D.C. Area Babies

So one of my big fears happened last night

I tripped and fell down the stairs in our house while holding M. Thankfully, he didn't even notice anything happened, because I held onto him the entire time. He's completely fine. I hurt my ankle and I'm limping today. And my dog ran down the stairs after me and whined at me for being in her way. Stick out tongue

  • How scary!  I'm glad that he is fine, and hopefully your ankle is better soon.

  • So scary.  I did this while holding Maggie as a baby too.  I managed to twist so she landed on top of me but boy did I end up hitting harder than I thought in an odd position.  I just majorly bruised my hip though.  I hope your ankle feels better!
  • oh no! I'm glad you are both OK!

this happened exactly a year ago to me, v-day weekend, I fell on black ice while holding DD (16mo old at the time) while 24 weeks pregnant. I ended up on crutches and not able to drive for weeks.

Hopefully now that your big fear came true, nothing like this will ever happen again!

  • Oh my gosh!  I am glad that you and M are both ok, and I hope your ankle feels better soon!  And my dogs would totally do the exact same thing, lol.

We live in a TH with 4 levels, so lots of stairs, and this is my biggest fear too!  Every time I have DS in my arms going up and down the stairs it is in the back of my mind.

A few weeks ago I fell down the stairs with Sprouter. Like, aaaalllllllllllll the way down. I had bruises for weeks (a huge one on my butt that made sitting uncomfortable for a few days)!

I think moms have so sort of programming that when we fall holding our little ones, we instictively move to protect them.

  • I'm so glad you are OK.  I did the same thing with DD when she was little.  Moms and babies are resilient.  :)  Thank god, or my children will never survive my klutziness.
  • Oh no! That's awful, but I'm glad you're okay. I was visiting a friend with a baby in a three level townhouse a few weeks ago and had a new appreciation for my rancher.

  • I remember that Sofka!!

Glad you're OK and baby's OK.  Amazing how that motherly instinct kicks in and you "save" the baby.

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
