Those who are pregnant with #2/#3 or those who have 2/3 LO's

I am curious to ask if any of you girls who have been pregnant or are pregnant with #2 or #3, if you girls suffered from morning sickness the second time around (third?)

I know I did with DS and he is our first one but I want to know the likelihood for my second or even my third LO.

TIA

  • My morning sickness with Becky was so mild and infrequent, I barely considered it morning sickness. Although, I did actually puke with Becky more than I did with Evelyn.

  • I did not have morning sickness with any of my three. (how lucky is that?)  I had one girl and two boys.

  • I am in my first trimester with LO#2 right now.  I have all day nausea.  It was 24/7 last week and at least it has stopped in the middle of the night.  With DD, it was 24/7 from weeks 6-16.  It started earlier this time, but I am okay.  There is no way to predict if you will have morning sickness, as far as I know.  My mom told me that she only had it with her first pregnancy and I've heard other moms say that they didn't have it with all of their pregnancies.  Good luck!

  • I had mild to no morning sickness with my first two pregnancies but with my third I had horrible morning sickness that lasted a good 4-5 months. Pregnancies are so different you can not predict or know. You have to be willing to sign up come hell or high water.

  • This is the fifth time I've been pregnant (3 m/c) and I've never had anything beyond mild nausea.

  • I didn't have morning sickness with my 1st pregnancy, but had it til 19w with my 2nd pregnancy.

  • I had minimal nausea with #1 (as in, I can count on one hand the number of times I felt sick).  I had more nausea with this one and I did, in fact, throw up a few times.  So yeah, it was worse for me the second time around.  But luckily, it was gone by about 13/14 weeks.

  • I am okay as long as i don't cook, or smell anything offensive, or forget to eat every two hours.   That being said, it's MUCH better than with DD.  With DD I threw up all day, everyday, without provocation.  This time around, I feel like crap but don't puke.  It's so much better.

  • I had all day morning sickness and food aversions long into the 2nd trimester with my first.  This time the naseau was less severe and ended around 14 weeks, though I still have a hard time brushing my teeth and have some food aversions at 17 weeks.  It's been much better this time around!

  • I was never puking, but with DS I lost my appetite for a few weeks and lost 5 lbs or so.  This time around, my appetite loss was much more severe and I basically barely ate anything during my 1st tri.  I lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks.

On the flipside, my girlfriend had debilitating m/s with her 1st LO and now that she is pg with her second, she is still feeling sick but nowhere near as badly as the first time.

  • Yes, but it was much more mild and less frequent than with my 1st pg.  I almost wish I had it longer b/c I was starving all the time and am much larger this time around.

  • I'm STILL sick in the mornings with this one. With DS I was feeling better by 12 weeks.

  • Mine has been pretty much the same, if not a little milder. I am not a puker, just a dry heaver. I remember with Jacob crawling around on the floor begging for my life a few times b/c I felt so bad, and I didnt have to do that this time around. The downfall with this one is that I am already the size of the Kool-Aid man...

  • with #1 I was very sick until about week 16 (took oral anti nausea meds), with #2 and #3 I was hospitalized for my hyperemesis and put on a pump with meds until about week 20... but #4 was a complete 180.... I don't know what changed, or if it was just luck...

  • I am on # 3 and had Hyperemesis with all three pregnancies. I am SO done! I am over the non-stop vomiting and popping Zofran pills constantly.

Every single person I know said, "Every pregnancy is different! Maybe you won't be sick at all this time!" Honestly, by the time I was pregnant with the third I wanted to punch every single person in the face who said that.

I would hope for the best, but expect the worst. Ick!

  • I was mildly nauseated with #1 from weeks 8-10. With #2, I was sick (throwing up sick) from weeks 6-15. No fun at all.

Many of my friends have been sicker with their second pregnancies than they were with their first. Not sure if that has anything to do with the fact that you can't take it as easy when you are feeling crummy as you could the first time around.

    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • I had morning sickness for the first trimester both pregnancies. It was worse for the first pregnancy though.. Good Luck..!
  • I was nauseous 24/7 for about 23 weeks of my first pregnancy with DS - during the first trimester, then I got a break and then it came back at the end. This time around (I am 26 wks), I have had some nausea maybe 4x, so nowhere near what it was last time around.

  • With #1 my morning sickness was very mild and pretty much limited to nausea and exhaustion. With #2 it was again mild, with no vomiting, but the nausea was actually worse and lasted longer. But like I said, both were mild cases compared to some, with no vomiting, so I feel pretty lucky.

  • I think each pregnancy is different. I had no morning sickness with my 1st, and mild (evening) sickness with my 2nd.

  • I'm in the minority here, but I am pregnant with #2 (both boys) and with first pregnancy I had m/s through 12 weeks. This time I am still vomiting at 33 weeks.
