recommend your baby wearing wrap

Please please please help me out.

Fostering a baby girl. 9 days old today. would like to get a wrap...have no idea what to choose for an infant.

safety/security is priority #1 for the wrap, i don't want to worry that she'll slip out!

Etsy recs are preferred, but will purchase at target/babiesrus if need be

  • a moby style wrap is awesome.  it can be kinda tricky to figure it out in the beginning though, so i watched a bunch of youtube videos to help me get the hang of it.

  • Do NOT get a Jellybean. They are the worst until you can do a hip carry. I'm going to get a Moby for the new baby. I borrowed my SIL's for a weekend when DS was 3 mos. old and I really liked it. I've heard good things about the mei teis too.

  • my dd is 6 weeks.  I use my moby and a sling wrap interchangeably.   i like the sling because I can toss it in my purse and use it when I'm out.

The moby is a lot more time consuming to get on, and I feel like I'm constantly adjusting it.  It is a lot softer and more comfortable if you plan on wearing it for hours, though.

What brand sling do you use?

I love the Moby (once I finally figured it out).  I have to agree it's kind of time consuming to get on so I'll put it on at home, that way once I'm at the store I just slide baby in.  The other day I wore it but we stopped at CVS for me to run in real quick for something.  I had the Moby on but no baby inside (she stayed in the car with Daddy) and I felt a little silly...but oh well...

  • I had a Moby and Bjorn with DD#1.  I really disliked the Moby -- it was time consuming to put on and I didn't feel she was secure.  We got the K'Tan for DD#2 instead -- similar to the Moby but you don't have to figure out the wrapping yourself.  I loved it as did DD#2 -- she fell asleep in it a number of times.  We also used the Bjorn with DD#2 frequently when shopping etc.

I bought mine off of Etsy--the seller is in the process of a move, so doesn't have anything listed in her store.
