Rear D Question (Re: Deploying)

We PCS'd here in October and H has been in a rear D unit since then. We've known that he could always be deployed at any minute and I've always said that if they were to only send one person, it'd be him (that's just how our luck is). Well, on Friday he was one of 25 guys notified to be deployment ready. Today he was given a date for his medical exam/shots and they were told if they didn't deploy within 30 days, they'd have to do it again. So my question is - if you/your SO has been told you're "on call" to go, how long before you were actually sent, if ever? His unit is scheduled to return this summer, if that makes a difference.

H's parents are coming to see LO and I really don't want to be alone with them for a week. H is submitting his leave packet tomorrow for when they come - they can unapprove his leave and deploy him instead, right?

    My H was placed on notice 3 times, he's deployed twice.  The first time he was placed on noticed was in 2003 and I believe the notice went on for several months before the higher ups either scrubbed the mission or my H was bounced (he never did find out which it was since he would have attached to another unit).

    I'm sure if his unit needs him his leave can be revoked.

    MH was given 10 days notice for deployment. In those 10 days he had to get his shots and gear, do his will, etc. However, some of the other guys he deployed with were given three months notice. So, I think it depends on when exactly he is needed.

    Also, I'm pretty sure they can revoke his leave.

    They can revoke his leave. DH got notice he was to deploy 4 weeks before he left and then he submitted leave which was approved. Shortly after that they scheduled a sort of crash course training week and crammed all the normal training into a few days in the field. I was alone with my MIL for the whole 5 days he was gone.  

    It does happen.
