So, I figured that I would write up a quick birth story for the babies while I finally have a few minutes on the computer...
Short story: Joshua Kellen was born at 12:47am on 2/1/11 and Lillian Grace was born at 12:48am on 2/1/11
Longer story:
On Sunday night I had some very severe pains for a few hours which reminded me of when I had kidney stones with my 1st DS, so the next day 1/31/11 (Monday) I called the OB and we were off to L&D for the full work up. We were there almost all day and I came home with the diagnoses of potential kidney stones, a potential UTI and a gall stone. Yeah for me!
Anyways, I was feeling pretty good all night, better than I had felt in awhile so I was on the computer e-mailing and chatting and everything else. Around 10:30pm I got up to go to the bathroom and just outside of the door my water broke. It was the craziest feeling (and kinda gross). I never experienced it with my DS1 so it was so strange. Anyways, we got moving and got to the hospital around 11:15pm. I was just starting to have contractions as we were checking in, but they weren't too bad at that point.
In triage... that was a whole different story. My contractions started to get so bad. They were coming every 2 minutes and were lasting for about 1 min each and I was in severe pain. I had an internal and was 4cm dialated and then she said that I dilated to 5cm while she was checking. Shortly after that I started feeling like I needed to go poo really badly. Thankfully, the OB on call was there and said it was time to move with the c/s. All of a sudden a million nurses and techs came running in and putting in lines, asking me a million questions, etc. Soon enough I was on my way to the OR.
The c/s went pretty well, better than my first one. I didn't start to freak out this time so that is good... The twins were both great. Both had 8s and then 9s for the APGAR scores. Joshua Kellen was born first at 12:47am at 5lb8oz and 19.75" long; Lillian Grace was born at 12:48am at 6lb5oz and 20.5" long.
Both are doing fantastic, but are having a very difficult time nursing. L refuses to latch at all; she has no clue what to do... The LC said that she has preemie tongue and will eventually outgrow it. J will latch on sometimes and doesn't seem to have preemie tongue as bad as his sister.
Below is a link to some sneak peak pics of the twins from the photographer that did their newborn photos at 1 week old.

Congratulations! I am glad they are both big and healthy!
I had trouble nursing my guys at first, too. Neither of them wanted to latch, but I got a lactation consultant to help, and after a lot of practice they improved.
Congrats! Love the pics, they are adorable.
Thanks for the update/story! Glad to hear all went well and you are all healthy and happy!!!!!
