I have been talked into the city mini from a ton of girls on here. But I have a few questions for those of you that have this stroller. Is it your only stroller? Will I be ok with just this? I am planning on getting the adapter bar to use with the car seat. What is the basket underneath like, is it easy to get to, does your purse/diaper bag fit? Just trying to decide if I should add an additional one to my registry Thanks
Re: BJ City Mini Question
Our Twin Baby + a Big Girl Blog
And with the delivery trifecra of one twin vaginal, one c-section with general anesthesia for twin B, Spencer and Sidney joined us at 35 weeks exactly on June 18.
I mean I didnt want the stroller ruined on the air plane, even our stroller bags come out torn, so I got the snap and go
We have the City Mini and it is our travel/umbrella stroller and we love it for these functions. Our everyday stroller is the Uppababy Vista which is awesome. We've only used the Mini for our 2 week vacation when LO was 8 weeks old, but it worked out great - great ride, fantastic sunshade, easy open/close, etc. The small basket and inability for LO to face you took it out of the running for our main stroller, but plenty of people use it for their one and only and love it. If you do hook your diaper bag on or put it over the handle be very careful because it can be tippy.
I wouldn't worry about it getting ruined while travelling. We gate-checked it and bought a bag specifically to stow it in and it came out perfectly, then again we bought it specifically to travel with so we know the risk.
We bought the carseat adaptor and used it twice, I thought it was a waste of money - LO rode in the stroller comfortably at 8 weeks old.
This is my third child, and I have been through 5 strollers before getting the Baby Jogger City Mini for this baby....I plan to use it almost exclusively (the only exception being if I need a double stroller for a situation with my almost 3 year old, but I doubt that will happen as he's going to want to walk like his 4 year old brother), and then I have an old Baby Trend jogger that I will use if I go for a run with the baby while the big boys are in preschool (uh, probably won't happen often, if ever).
I was also convinced to get this stroller after reading so many great reviews here....and used it for the first time over the weekend with my toddler and it was really great! Steers well, folds SO easily and is so lightweight, and I was pleasantly surprised that even with the diaper bag on the handlebar it did NOT tip when my son got out (my lightweight Maclaren *always* tipped, drove me crazy). I love how big the canopy is. The basket is not huge, but it truly was good enough...we had all four of our sweaters/fleeces stuffed in it, plus several bags of trains and puzzles, and my big Nikon camera all in the basket, then the diaper bag hung from the handlebar.
After using the Phil & Ted's Sport with doubles seat, a Chicco travel system, and a lightweight Maclaren, this is truly the best of all of them. There are definitely other strollers out there that I think are cool, but most of them do NOT fold compactly and are really heavy....I'm done with that at this point.
I just need to get the parent console and infant seat adapter and I'll be all set! BTW, I also did consider getting a snap n go for the first few months, but I think I'm going to prefer the adapter (less to store when I'm done with it, baby sits up higher, better quality stroller than the snap n go....).
Thanks everyone. I knew I'd get some good answers on here. Its settled, I'm going to keep it as my one and only. for now anways. My MIL keeps trying to talk me into registering for one or two more, I told her the reason we registered for the City Mini was because I thought you could use it for everything, and i was right. Thanks again

I also have a really small Chicco umbrella stroller, but honestly, II'm only keeping it because we don't have a double and there *might* be a situation where we need both kiddos confined to a seat, lol. I really don't think you would need any other stroller than this one though with one kid. It's both lightweight enough to work as an 'umbrella' stroller, and solid enough for every day use. GL!
