Anyone else with inside babies tired of having people constantly asking/emailing/texting/IM'ing if anything is going on? I constantly tell everyone, "No, nothing yet. I'll let you know!" and then the very next day, same questions. I'm getting guilt trips from my mom that I'm not communicating with her often enough. Hello, emails, belly pictures, phone calls, facebook status updates...what else do you want from me?! Believe me, I'm as eager as you are, and you constantly asking is not helping the time pass any quicker!
Re: Pleeeease everyone, stop checking in on me
Every time I see anyone I know they're so disappointed to see me! "You're still here?!" "You're still carrying that baby around?!" "Oh no!"
I set www.haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com as my facebook status since my EDD Thursday, and I've had a few people ask if it's still applicable...yes, unfortunately it is.
A possibility was born the day you were born and will live as long as you live.
I agree!! It is especially annoying when it is "close" people--immediate family or good friends. Do you really think we would have this baby by now and you wouldn't know??
My due date is tomorrow and it is driving me crazy. That coupled with, "When do you think you will go?" I HAVE NO IDEA--leave me alone! I am so wretched, I know...
Good call, I'm totally doing this right now!!
my father in law actually accused us of having the baby and not telling him, since he hadnt heard anything yet. Really?
Yes, I'm still pregnant, and no, were not neglecting to tell people.
I have this weird half and half thing going on. My FIL, MIL and Mom keep constantly calling and asking. Luckily, my mom is the best about it, because she went weeks overdue with me, so she doesn't bug me, just reminds me that its perfectly normal to go over your due date. MIL and FIL however, if we don't answer phones right away will call L&D CONVINCED that we went without telling them. SIL is perfect and knows I will tell her as soon as we get confirmation.
My Dad and Step-mom seem to forget that I am pregnant (my step-siblings who are all younger than me already had them drowning in grandbabies by the time I graduated college), so we will see if they get excited at all. I think my dad really only remembered to ask if I had given birth today because their dog went into labor with puppies and they called to tell me. He asked about LO after 20 minutes of gushing over the puppies. Way to fail, Dad, way to fail.
I agree with you all!!! I also have a list of people who expect me to call them and give them an update after EVERY dr appt. I think it is nice that they are excited, but it can be frustrating!!
that and if my mom answers the phone with 'is it time?' one more time I may scream... if I don't call she worries something is up, and if I do it is like high alert.
believe you- when it is time we will let people know.
Proud mama to a boys- 6/17/09 - a girl 2/23/11- and a boy 8/20/12
Yup - all of this! I set this as my FB status on Saturday, with the pre-amble of, "Since today is my due date, this is for everyone who is curious!" I've had lots of people "Like" my status and a few comments of "LOL" or "Good one!"
Ugh, I am getting sick of it too!
People asking me if anything is going on doesnt bother me as much as people outright DEMANDING I go into labor, or have my baby already. Yeah let me get right on that for you!
Oh and if one more person openly tells me to have sex to bring on labor I think I may punch them.
OMG I love that website... just posted it to my profile!!!! Thanks
:::Raises hand while jumping up and down::: I know they mean well, but I agree it is making the time take seem to pass so much slower.
