Really close to a breakdown Advice please

I am 36 weeks pregnant and have been on bedrest for a month for elevated BP and heart rate. I felt really bad on Saturday and went to L&D to have my BP checked and it was 171/110 and my heart rate was 135. Baby's heart rate was also up. They checked my urine and it was high for protein so my blood pressure meds were adjusted and I was admitted for a 24 hour urine. I had also gained 10 lbs in less than a week. They gave me fluids and said the baby was probably dehydrated because I am retaining fluids in my soft tissues and its not making it to her. Her heart rate went back to normal after this. I was discharged last night and told to follow with my OB for the test results. I called and they said they would have him look at the results and call me back, this was 4 hours ago. I am VERY short of breath and have been having mid-sternal chest pain off and on all day today. I don't know if this is from the increased fliud or her positioning. I feel like the Drs are not takimg me serious and I want some answers. I delivered DD at 35 weeks because she failed her NSTs and BPPs and my blood pressure was dangerously out of control. I am scared and tired of being brushed off.

If the test results didn't show any immediate need to get in touch with you, then the doctor won't rush to call you back. You DO need to call the doctor's office back and tell them what's going on with your chest pains, etc. That should be something they know about.

I'm sorry, this sounds really scary.

What if you called your doctor office and told them that you are very concerned and you feel you need medical attention and that it they do not call you back within 30 minutes you are going to the ER and they can reach you there.

I bet that will get you a call back. And if it doesn't - head to the ER.

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I would definitely call your doctor about the chest pains. If you feel something is wrong, don't let them blow you off. Mother's intuition can be a pretty powerful thing! You're almost done. Hang in there and good luck!

I would call them back and tell them of your new symptoms.

I would be calling the OB's office and LND. If you think something is wrong and you dont feel right then call and be a pain!

I would call your doctor too. It would put your mind at ease and take away on stress or anything you are feeling. That is what they are there for too.

If you have not heard back from them yet, call them again. You know your body more than anyone and you need to listen to what it is telling you. I am currently in the hospital for the same thing, elevated BP and protein in my urine. I am here until delivery and I am only 27 weeks today! Hang in there, you are on the home stretch! Big Smile

With my dd I had those chest pains as my first symptom and I had developed severe pre-e and HELLP. I never knew they were a symptom but they are no joke. I would call or go in. My situation turned very serious very fast.

I would definitely call your dr. back. I'm surprised they even let you leave the hospital. With ds#2 when my bp started going up they told me if I even had protein in my urine that I would be at the hospital for the duration of the pg. Like pp said if you don't hear back from them shortly go to the ER.

You need to go to LND now. You sound like you have a very serious case of pre-e. I would go to the hospital and then call your doctor to tell them where you are. I had the same problems, minus the chest pains, and they induced me that same day! I'm surprised they sent you home! Good luck.
