I am looking for a non-convertible crib for around $300.I prefer dark woods or black. I am looking for something that is good quality and safe (been looking at what consumer reports has to say) Any recs?
We got the Graco Lauren crib in Espresso. We got it on sale, but it's regularly only $160. It is convertible, but I suppose you don't have to convert it. It's very nice and we just got it put together last night.
I would also recommend looking at JCPenny. Bumpies have been posting some great deals there lately.
We bought the Bonavita Peyton Lifestyle crib. Ours is convertible to a full size bed, but they make a "classic" version that isn't. It's GREAT quality and the service at kids-n-cribs exceeded our expectations. Below is the link to the "classic" crib! Hope this helps!

I love the classic version of this crib! It's beautiful and very good quality. We ended up going with a full convertible set from the same company (LaJobi) that I love instead.
We got the Graco Charleston crib in cherry, and it is beautiful. Yes, it is a convertible crib, but you don't have to convert it. I found it for $150 with free shipping (through Amazon Mom) on Amazon. Highly recommend!

This. We got ours from walmart.com with a mattress for $149. We ended up exchanging the mattress for something else, so the crib ended up being $119 on its own. It's very sturdy, and I love the dark wood and clean look of it. GL!

Can't tell you a specific crib, but I recommend NOT getting a drop-down sided crib. That was in our price range and I regret it nearly every day. Every day.
