Trouble TTC

If you have fibroids or polyps..question..

Did you have symptoms?

I thought my LP spotting was a Progesterone issue, and it may still be, but now I think it may be more...

Of course I will mention all this at our RE appt the end of the month, but I want to know what I am in for.

I have spotting that begins 3-4 DPO and continues until my period. My periods are about 5-7 days, I have 1-2 days of heavy to moderate flow with mild to moderate cramps. My HSG was normal, but I know you really need a saline u/s to see them well, correct?

thanks

Re: If you have fibroids or polyps..question..

  • I had a polyp that was found during my HSG. I did not have any symptoms. I had it removed with a hysteroscopy. I am not sure if that answers your question.

  • In retrospect I want to say yes. The cycle before my lap (where the polyps and fibroids were discovered) I started spotting at 7dpo and continued until I got my period at 12dpo. I also had a LOT of pressure in my uterus that I'd never really had before. The cycle after my lap, I had no pre-AF spotting so I'm guessing the lap (which removed endo/polyps/fibroids) helped. I too had clear HSGs (before and during the lap) so they don't always pick up any polyps/fibroids. GL!!

  • I have a fibroid (pretty large, actually - it was found on u/s before TTC) and the only symptoms I had were rapid weight gain and severe cramps from ovulation to AF.  My fibroid is on the outside of my uterus though, so it's still there because it is not effecting anything and all my doctors have agreed that it is best to leave it alone.  I only spot the day before AF comes full swing.  GL!!

  • thanks for your responses. I am just curious about personal experiences. I was on BCP's so long (14 years) that I don't know what is "normal" for me in regards to cramps/periods.

My pain isn't terrible, but I know you can have them w/o heavy bleeding or cramps, too.

  • I had a large fibroid in the muscle of my uterus before TTC. They removed the fibroid by surgery (Since it was in the muscle and I do not have children, they had to open me up.).  When I had to fibroid I had lots of bleeding all the time, it was more than spotting.  Since we have been TTC, I had a HSG and everything is fine. Now I tend to spot around day 5 or 6. My periods were heavy for a few years after the surgery, but now they are back to normal (well normal for me). I hope everything goes well. GL!

  • I had a polyp that was found during a hysteroscopy.  I did not have any symptoms and it was not seen on an HSG or saline sono.  My RE did a hysteroscopy while I was under for a cyst aspiration.

  • I had mid-cycle spotting and spotting during the last few days of my LP. The HSG did not reveal anything, but during my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy last week, my Dr. found a uterine polyp. He thinks it was the cause of my spotting, but only time will tell. I had no other symptoms. I hope you get some answers soon.
