Opinion for-Travis Timothy

Ok I'm not even pregnant. So this is WAY cart before horse.

But we are struggling with IF and I am going into my IVF cycle with high hopes and to keep things positive DH and I have been discussing names for our future babies.

We have the girl name down - Gabriella Marie D_ _ _ _

For a boy we have had lots of trouble choosing, DH is extremely picky, over the weekend we were in our favorite city, Traverse City and I said jokingly, what if we named our boy Travis because it sorta sounds like our fav city and I've always liked the name.

And DH loved it!! But we have already set in stone that we will use DH's late Father's name (Timothy) as the MN.

So does Travis Timothy D_ _ _ _ sound cute?

I love Travis and I love Timothy but do I love them together?

I need honest brutal opinions, LOL Just let me have it!

I really dislike Travis, it sounds so country/redneck to me. But putting that aside I also don't like the double T's.

I like it. It's not really my style, but it doesn't sound bad either. Also, very rarely are the first name and middle name both used so as long as you like Travis D_____ then I think that it's a good choice.

PS-LOVE Traverse, though I've never been there in the winter. I definitely want a glass of Black Star Farms Artisan Red right about now though...or their Reisling...yummmm.

I like Travis....but I do not care for the TT.

Have you considered Travis Anthony? Same syllables...

Travis is a cowboy/country name to me, so I don't like it. But if you guys like it, you should go with it!

The name itself is NMS, but I think it flows just fine, and doesn't feel alliterative.

Timothy Travis flows well, but Travis Timothy doesn't sound too good.

I also don't like the thought of a possible sibling set Gabriella and Travis (assuming you carried the names forward for a second LO). As someone going through IVF, that might not be a concern for you, but I would think about it.

All in all, Travis Timothy isn't the worst; I could easily overlook any problems with it for the sentimental value of the names, but only for that reason. I also think this might be a case where the actual last name might make or break the combination.

Whatever you decide, good luck with your IVF cycle.

Thanks for your opinion, I don't think I like Gabriella and Travis together either but it's taking us so long to have 1 that I honestly don't even know if we will TTC again, so that may never be an issue. But thanks for your comments, I appreciate the honesty.

I'm not liking them together, sorry. Travis is nms, but I do think both names on their own are fine.

I love the name Travis. I wish it fit more with me and my guy's naming style. Timothy is underappreciated these days, and I like it as well...but mostly on other kids.

That said, I think when they're paired together, it sounds like the word, 'travesty' and I really don't like the sound of it.

I'd keep Travis, find an alternative to Timothy (I know it's a family name, but the child will also have the grandfather's surname), and keep Timothy as a possibility for child #2. Unless you're only having one, then I'm not sure what to tell you other than I don't like the combination.
