T&P for my sister IVF update...my heart is breaking

My sister had 2 eggs transferred a week ago exactly. She sent me a text this AM that her period came today. My heart is breaking so much for her right now. I tried to call her back and she didn't answer. I sent her a text back saying that I am going to give her her space and to call me when she is ready. I am just so sad for her. We both had such high hopes that this was finally going to happen for her and she was so positive. I don't even know what to say to her, I guess to just be hear and listen. Two egss have been frozen, so at least they can try that route before another retrieval. T&P for her please!

So sorry to hear that.

I can't imagine how tough it must be for her, but at least it sounds like you guys are close, and hopefully she can talk to you about what she's feeling. Sending T&P your way.

Okay... not trying to get hopes artificially high but is she SURE it is her period???

I was *sure* I was getting my period about a week after my ET. It was heavier than spotting but not bright red flow.... Definitely required a pad though. I called my RE in tears and the nurse made it very clear that it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY to get your period on the progesterone supplements that you are on during IVF. That most bleeding in the week past ET is implantation bleeding. Bleeding and spotting early in IVF pregnancies is VERY VERY VERY common.

Has she taken a pregnancy test? When I started bleeding they brought me in for a beta early (to see if I should stop the progesterone) and it was positive. The spotting eventually went away. I never believed in "implantation spotting" until that happened to me. I did not have any implantation spotting with my naturally (non-IVF) concieved pregnancies.

I am sitting here hoping, and praying that this is what it is. I want to give her her space, so I don't know what has happened today or anything the dr. said. I also tried to her call her DH but he is not answering either. To my knowledge, she has not taken a HPT. I know that she is using the progesterone suppositories. She is a night shift nurse and her dr. is in the same hospital, so I assume she has been touch. When I talk to her or her DH, I will be sure to share this with her. Thank you

I finally heard back from my BIL. She was bleeding a lot last night, and the RE has given her some oral medications to take. They wont know for sure until Thurs. They will do the blood draw on Thurs. He said she has been sleeping all day and has called out of work for tonight. I hope there is still hope! Thanks everyone for your T&P
