We used them at first with DS1 as a swaddle, and I don't recommend them for that because he was totally able to bust out of them. We switched to the Woombie and I loved it! We did use the sleep sacks (without the swaddle) after we stopped swaddling until DS1 was about 10 months old just as a blanket and then switched to the one with feet holes once he was standing, etc. Highly recommended as an extra blanket.
Loved them for the post-swaddle phase (we weaned the swaddle at 4 months). I didn't dare put a blanket in the crib until DS was around a year old. Halos are the perfect alternative to loose blankets.
loved them. ds slept in one for his first 6 months or so. all babies do not like to be swaddled either. we got some of the little swaddle sack thingies and some blankets to swaddle him with -- he said "no thanks" over and over again!
we have 2 Halo Sleepsacks, and another brand. I'd recommend them for the non-swaddled phase.
Unfortunately for us, DD was swaddled until about 2 weeks ago. We're using Baby Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit, because she wasn't sleeping in the sleepsacks. One day we'll be able to use them...

DD still uses them - I love them personally!
She hated the swaddle so we used them early, but she still grabs one when she picks out her pjs.
